Book Description:
A gripping new saga of pre-historic America that takes us to the Mississippi Valley and the tribe known as the Mound builders. It is a time of troubles. In Cahokia, the corn crop is failing again and a warchief--and the warrior woman he may never possess--are disgusted by their Chief's lust for tribute. Now even the gods have turned their faces, closing the underworld to the seers. If the gods have abandoned the people, there is no hope--unless it comes in the form of a young girl who is learning to Dream of Power.

A masterful story of the first north Americans by the bestselling authors of People of the Earth.

This is the last book of the series I plan to read. All the books follow the same predictable formula. You would expect that books written by scientists would not contain so much mysticism and lot more real information. But the biggest problem with these books is that they are boring.

Well, it's a great book, in fact it's so great I have two copies. One I'm reading and one I ordered from another swapper. I like most of Gear's books, and I'm not disappointed with this one. Fast paced, the Gear team put together a fine story.

A story of prehistoric North America. It is #4 in a series of North
American prehistory, but you do not have to have read the other books to understand and enjoy this book.

Excellent reading. Truly insightful and creative. A delightful read that will at times bring tears to your eyes and other times make you smile.

Along the lines of Auel's stories. Primitive life, shamans and snow. Book has spine creases but very clean and tight.
