The authors are professional archaeologists, so it's historically correct, but they are great stories and the characters are vivid.

First of a great anthropologically based series beginning with the settlement of the epi glacial North American Continent and visiting tribal peoples ove the next few thousand years. I loved them all.

I found this to be a bit over the top in the weaving of the spiritual and the historical. I'd have preferred less conjecture, more fact based story telling. It struck me as a dawn-of-modern-man soap opera. But it was still fun. I don't think I'll venture on to the rest of the books though.
