This first book in the series sets the reader up to experience the magic of the ancients. The authors being archaeologists adds just that much more realizm to the reading of these books.

Book on in the series.
This book is a murder mystery taking place on two timelines. The Anasazi period where the murders (a mystery in themselves as to why not just who) take place and the present. The present day is archelogical. The dig, being on Indian land, has to have an Indian agent present to keep with regulations. The agent is an old medicine woman who brings the dig to life (ghostly). Very cool.

What a great read, I just finished the 3 in this series and I have to say, they were all three a really great read. If you like native american history, archeology, and suspense tied into one then I would recommend reading this whole series. I couldn't put them down. Highly Recommended!

The first in a series, about early american Indians and present day archaeologists and how their lives twist together. Hard to put down. I loved the series.

"The Gears have done it again. A mystical, and often frightening study of the Anasazi in what is now New Mexico...This crafty weaving of past and present, a wonderful journey of learning and adventure."From the Romantic Times.

This quote is right on. However it doesn't let you know the feeling of following a story told over the ages. I like books that take me to places and tells of people I haven't been fortunate enough to know meet. However, there are some of the spirits in this book I wouldn't want to know on a bright daylight day. It makes a great read.
