Book Description:
The 51 recipes presented in this little cookbook are the distillation - the cream of the crop - of more than 2,500 recipes submitted by Yankee readers.

The recipes were judged in two stages. First, a group of dedicated and expert cooks read through each category to narrow down the entries to a manageable number. This in itself was no easy task! The high quality of recipes in every one of the 17 categories made decision making difficult and occasioned heated debate and a flurry of recipe testing.

Then, a panel of distinguished judges met at Boston's Faneuil Hall Marketplace to pick the winner in each of the categories. Honored judges included Judy Gorman (cookbook author, Tastemaker Award winner, and nationally syndicated food columnist), Deedy Marble (proprietor and cook of The Governor's Inn, Ludlow, Vermont, and a winner in last year's contest), Richard Sax (teacher, chef, and versatile cookbook author, and true culinary artist).
