Book Description:
At the age of twenty-three, James Frey woke up on a plane to find his four front teeth had been knocked out. His nose was broken and there was a hole through his cheek. He had no idea where the plane was headed or what had happened over the preceding two weeks. He had been an alcoholic for ten years and a crack addict for three. When he checked into a treatment facility shortly thereafter, he was told he could either stop using or die before he reached twenty-four.

A Million Little Pieces is Frey’s acclaimed account of his six weeks in rehab; fiercely honest and deeply affecting, it is one of the most graphic and immediate books ever to be written about addiction and recovery.

I don't care if this is fiction instead of a memoir, it's a great read, and really true-to-life (according to addicts I've asked about it).

i agree, even if this book was a complete work of fictional, it is extremely fascinating, entertaining, and gripping. simply awesome, whether its fact or fiction. i loved it, so did my sister and friends who borrowed it

I started reading this book before all the controversy...and I'm glad I did because I was so arrested by the book by the time all the "truth" came out, I ended up not caring what was true and what was not. It's a great story no matter how you look at it.

This had to be one of the most pointless books I think I've ever read. An absolute waste of time.

I know there was a big to-do over the fact that some of this book was fiction but I didn't mind. It is a very powerful book that has a deep message. I couldn't put it down.

I read this book before it was discovered to be partially exaggerated and I loved it. It was a very fast read and kept me turning the pages. Sad to know it is not all true because you really feel for the guy, but it is a good story regardless. Glad I got the chance to read it before all of the negative press.

This book came back much before James Frey went on the Oprah show. It was a great book then, and it's a great book now and it has ALWAYS been in the fictional section.

His repetition was a little bit annoying but all in all a good read.

Boring story of drug rehab billed as non-fiction autobiography but most of the details are fabricated.

after reading there was a lot of controversy, but it was a good read

James Frey's controversial "memoir" - need I say more?

Michelle N. (TaterTot) wrote on 1/21/2007...

James Frey's memoir is quite a story, made even more interesting by his Oprah show interview and the controversy that followed. Even if the details are "as he remembered them", the ride through rehab makes you want to cheer his triumph.

I had read this book before the author came out and said not all of it was true, so I was a bit disappointed to learn that it was not a completely true story as he had said, but it is a very good read.

Never had the urge to read this book, although of course I've heard so many things about it! On many wishlists but not this ISBN-get it while it's here!

In spite of the controversy, a very good read.

This may be a good story, but I can't tell you for sure - it's so poorly written I can't get past the third page.

Fast read - disappointing to find out that it may be all lies
