Search - Heavens to Betsy

This book is rather boring. The main character complains throughout most of the book about how she isn't in a relationship, how hard it is to be a female pastor, and how now she's senior pastor and is getting knocked around because she's not a male. You just want to scream at the character to grow a back bone and stand up for herself. As for people dropping dead, 100 pages into the story and no one is dropping dead. This is a very slow read, especially with the character nagging all the time. The good part is, you don't have to read the first book in the series to understand this one. You get the point right off the bat that she's a pastor who wants out of her profession but gets stuck with it and her love life bites. (and the book keeps repeating that about every page)

I would pass this book up, and pick another book to read, this one is pointless, and the good parts don't happen till much much later.

Beth Patillo writes about the experience of a woman minister planning her own wedding after performing them. This is a cute and funny story that is really clean. This is Book #2. Read Earth to Betsy first if you can...you'll love her!

This is chick lit written by a pastor, so it isn't full of tawdry details but it is a fun book filled with romance. It was a quick read for me and it kept me engaged, so I do recommend it. We never think of the clergy as being in relationships, but this book is from the perspective of a young female pastor.

Life would be perfect for Reverend Betsy Blessing if it werent for parishoners who keel over her sermons, steal money form the collection box, and set her up with ex cons.

Not to mention the very incovenient feelings she is suddenly having for her long time friend, fellow seminarian, and verbal sparring partner. David Swenson. It isnt until Betsy is thrust into the postions of sinior minister for her church, however, that she discovers the real cause of her discontent; her feelings of failing has become stronger that her faith in herself.

A lot of insight as to what it takes to be a woman minister. It tells an entertaining story.
