Book 4 in the series. I enjoyed these books immensely. I hated for them to end.

Spirited and impeuous Katherine Taggart-nicknamed "Rusty" for her curly red hair-shines like a ray of sunshine at her aunt and uncle's orphanage. Wonderful with children but unaccustomed to traveling alone in the pioneer West, Rusty is accompained on her first orphanage placement trip by the kind but reserved widower Chase McCandles. When Chase offers Rusty a position in his stately home as a campion for his young son , Quniton, Rusty accepts out of love for the little boy. But when she realizes how little time Chase spends with Quinton, Rusty's heart is torn. How can she convince Chase that his son desperately needs a father. Rusty who works for an orphanage, meets Chase McCandles. Later she meets his little boy whom she loves. Her heart becomes involved with the father but she must not marry the father just because she loves the child.

I really enjoyed the writing in this story, but only to a point. It was a very sweet and dare I say sappy type of writing (maybe all christian fiction is this way). I don't mind this at all, but maybe in smaller doses. I'm not sure I can take 400 pages of it. I did enjoy the story though.
