Book Description:
Lauren Dockett brings together 30 women of all ages and backgrounds who are experiencing, or have recovered from, depression. These women describe the traps that keep them in the grip of depression and discuss how the experience has changed them. They offer solid advice for getting through a depressive episode and for avoiding depression in the future. Woven throughout is the latest research on the causes of the high rates of depression among women. Dockett's analysis of the most beneficial treatments includes an extensive description of current medications and alternatives to them. Summary questions at the end of each chapter help readers assess their own experience.
