Book Description:
Between running her maid service and fretting about her upcoming birthday (the dreaded 6-0), Charlotte LaRue doesn't have much time for gossip. She's trying her best to forget all the rumors she's heard -- she has more important things to worry about these days. Like vacuuming, window-washing...and her new job at the old Devilier house. The gorgeous historic home is being transformed into luxury apartments, and Maid-for-a-Day is in charge of the cleanup. Should be easy enough, Charlotte thinks -- until she finds a barely cold corpse in one of the closets.

Someone's turning 60 & she's not sure she likes it. It doesn't help when a dead man shows up in an apartment she's supposed to clean. Charlotte stresses on her birthday AND on the case.

A nice cozy murder mystery. The main character is a woman who has made her own way after becoming a single mom. She's built a business of her own by cleaning houses. Along the way she's become a keen observer of people and human nature. Her son wants her to retire, her Police Detective neice wants her to be careful, her tenant, a Police detective close to retiring agrees with her son and neice. She's the only one who believes that she can "clean" up the loose ends of the mystery.

Typical fluffy mystery, although why it is necessary to endlessly draw out the ending, escapes me.

My dog kind of got the corner of this book, but this is such a fun series I decided to list it anyway. I have read all of this series and just love them. But as I said, this book is not in as good condition as most of my books.
