Our Media, Not Theirs: The Democratic Struggle Against Corporate Media (Open Media Series) Author:Robert W. McChesney, John Nichols
Book Description:
Much of the U.S. media is consolidated in the hands of a few large companies, which results in journalism biased toward the corporate point of view, this book contends. The authors argue for local control, chronicle the rise of grassroots media activism, and conclude with a proposal for meaningful improvement.

Exceptional summary of the corporate media control issues in the U.S., how they have developed and what we can do to begin to reform media. Not as expansive as McChesney's larger works, but makes all the essential points. An important book.
