Educational book about American Indian child before the coming of US pioneers. Book in virtually perfect condition.

Kaya gets herself and her blind sister taken into captivity because she did not head for the woods as she was told to by her mother. She tries to save her horse and they are taken along with the herd. SHe learns about loss, survival and how important decisions are as well as the consequences.
