Book Description:
What do an ex-con, a former addict, a real estate broker, a college student, and a married mother of two have in common? Nothing, or so I thought. Who would have imagined that God would make a group as mismatched as ours the closet of friends?

I almost didn't even go to the Chicago Women's Conference - after all, being thrown together with five hundred strangers wasn't exactly my "comfort zone." But I would be rooming with my boss, Avis, and I hoped that maybe I might make a friend or two.

When Avis and I were assigned to a prayer group of twelve women at the conference, I wasn't sure what to think. There was Flo, an outspoken ex-drug addict; Ruth, a Messianic Jew who could smother-mother you to death; and Yo-Yo, an ex-con who wasn't even a Christian! Not to mention women from Jamaica, Honduras, South Africa - practically a mini-United Nations. We certainly didn't have much in common. But something happened that weekend to make us realize we had to hang together.

So "the Yada Yada Prayer Group" decided to keep praying for each other via e-mail. That worked for a while, but our personal struggles and requests soon got too intense for cyberspace, so we decided to meet together every other Sunday night. Talk about a rock tumbler!-knocking off each other's rough edges, learning to laugh and cry along the way. But when I faced the biggest crisis of my life, God used my newfound girlfriends to help teach me - Jodi Baxter, longtime Christian "good girl" - what it means to be just a sinner saved by grace.

This book is the first of 12 in a series. I wasn't sure I was going to like this book by the cover. But I have heard it said that "You can't judge a book by it's cover" so I didn't. The story starts out with Jodi (the main Character) attending a Chicago Women's Conference with her School Principal friend Avis. About 500 women are there.
The first night they split everyone up to pray in PRAYER GROUPS. These woman are like the league of nations. All different shapes and sizes and backgrounds. They are at this conference for 3 days and decide to keep the prayer group going. There are 12 women total in the group.
They prayed for each other via e-mail and that worked for a while but a few of the girls did not have e-mail. It became difficult to keep in touch. So, they decided to meet in person to pray.
God uses these women to knock off each other's rough edges, and learn to laugh and cry along the way. God also uses these women to show all of them what it means to be just a sinner SAVED BY GRACE. It is light hearted and powerful in parts. Not what I excepted. I'm glad.

Very moving. What happens when you put a bunch of random women together and surround them with the love of God and the spirit of women.

Great book. A little different than other Christian Chick lit I've read but I really got wrapped up in the story. I loved following the women in the prayer group as well. It made me long for my own prayer group like theirs.

This is such an emotional story. It has characters that could be your next door neighbor. The stories are realistic and could hit close to home. It is a story of friendship, new experiences, and lifes scary parts.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a great story about the bonds we make through our faith that keep us all connected, and always there for one another.

Awesome book! Gave me a whole new perspective on prayer, and made me long to part of a prayer group just like the Yada Yadas.

A great Christian Fiction book, after reading it you will be encouraged to pray more. The story follows the life of the main character Jodi Baxter. Jodi learns about God's grace when she realizes she does need prayer. A great story with Christian ideas throughout and good character development.
