Book Description:
In four interwoven novellas set in 1941, an American OSS officer enlists a mother and daughter in America and two of their relatives in Europe to carry out a clever plan. They sew dolls for the children of the war-torn continent... but add a life-saving twist: Hidden in each doll are the funds and documents necessary to smuggle children away from certain death. A plan as simple and dangerous as this requires cooperation and trust. Whom can these Christians rely upon? As they labor, each finds a special helper to whom they bond in heart and soul while completing their important task.

I was surprised at how good this book was! Written by Cathy Marie Hake, her teenage daughter and two other authors it is a 4-in-1 with a common on-going thread about rescuing Jewish children in Europe during WWII. But each story is also a romance. Highly recommended as a quick and throughly enjoyable read.

Cool book with four different novellas that centers around several people who try smuggling jewels behind Nazi lines in order to rescue Jewish children in the WWII era.

4 Novellas set in WWII. Four couples find love as they serve Christ and follow their passion for helping orphans.

An interesting threaded series of stories, all with ties to the original idea, but written by four different authors. I found it fascinating. Takes place during WWII and really tugs at the heart. I call such reading "simple", yet a most worthwhile to gain a little bit of historical insight.
