The relation between this book and the nationally syndicated comic strip "Buck Rogers" is worth noting. "Armageddon 2419AD" was originally the title of a long novelette that appeared in "Amazing Stories" in 1928. A sequel, entitled "The Airlords of Han", appeared in that magazine a year later. Both works have been integrated to create this book.

This book is exactly what it purports to be. It is a coffee table book with great photos of some great bikes. The bikes are mostly new school choppers extremely well done. There are short bios of the builders and building styles. No tech stuff. Just great photos.
These are $40,000+ bikes made to dream about. Or if you have that kind of bucks, you could use this book to see a sample of the work of several builders before you place your order.

Early days on the Tug Hill Plateau of upstate New York. Especially good if you know the area, but good regardless. Edmond's is a regional writer who captures the people and culture of early NY> All his books are good.

This is a hardcover edition of stories written in the 30's, 40's, & 50's by the master of southern quail hunting, with a touch of old fashioned fishing on the side. Full of memories for those of us who waited for Field & Stream or Outdoor Life to appear in our mailbox every month.

The Champion Buffalo Hunter: The Frontier Memoirs of Yellowstone Vic Smith
Review Date: 6/26/2006

Trapper, dispatch rider, scout, trick shot, and buffalo hunter, Vic Smith was also a great storyteller. This is a good account of life and the characters of late 1800 life.

The Complete Angler: A Connecticut Yankee Follows in the Footsteps of Walton
Review Date: 6/3/2012
Helpful Score: 1

In my opinion, this is the best of Prosek's books. It provides at least a basic understanding of Isaak Walton's classic (which everyone knows, but no one has read). But Prosek's experiences in England and with the English alone make this a very good read. His paintings are an added bonus. Well worth the time spent with it. Enjoyable.

Brin is always good, but this is exceptional. It has physics, metaphysics, and even, meta-metaphysics.Real heroes, real villians with good character development and a continually evolving plot. Global warming and all the cults that follow with it. He anticipates both the ubiquitous usage of both cellphones and the Internet. You can either work hard to understand the science or just ride the excitement - your choice.
