"I couldn't stop reading this book! At first I thought it might be a bit corny since it was based on fairy tales. However, it was very entertaining and put funny twists on childhood favorites. I would highly recommend this for a fun read."

"I found this book very interesting. It is written from the perspective of an autistic child which made for a difficult read at the beginning. However, before long I was completely caught up in the story and couldn't stop reading. I would suggest reading it."

"I really enjoyed this book. Prior to ordering it, I had read the reviews and noticed a lot of people commented on the fact that they didn't like it because the story was told from Sookie's point of view. I didn't really understand why this was a problem, because a LOT of books are written that way. Perhaps books in this particular genre about vampires and what tend not to be written that way? Anyway, I decided if that was the only negative thing I really saw about the book it was worth a try. It had been turned into a TV show after all so it's couldn't be all bad.
I'm definitely glad I did decide to order this book. In my opinion is was a great read. I couldn't put it down and just ordered the second and third book in the series. I actually really enjoyed that Sookie acted pretty normal (with the exception of being able to read minds). Many of the other books out there about Vampires are way over the top melodramatic. I liked the way this story plot has the extraordinary being part of the ordinary life. Small town Louisiana being shook up a little bit. This is especially entertaining because I recently moved to such a town last year. Anyway, I would suggest giving this book a try if you are like a nice mix of comedy, romance, and adventure!"

"I enjoyed this book for the most part. It was an easy read and kept me interested until the ending. The last 50 pages or seemed a bit odd and given the tone of the book up until that point, the ending was a bit too "happily ever after". However, I would still suggest reading this book as it has a pretty neat twist on the whole idea of the afterlife."

"This was a very well written book and the Jodi Picoult did a great job writing from the point of view of the different characters. She switched which character was "speaking" every chapter. It touched on a lot of different emotions and although I was more towards one side throughout the whole book, I found myself able to relate with the opposition and see where they were coming from as well. My only complaint is that the ending was terrible. I won't spoil it by saying exactly what happens but I found myself very let down. I had been planning to see the movie after reading the book, but that ending spoiled it. Since then I have heard that the ending of the book is quite different from the ending of the movie. I am usually annoyed by this, but I think in this case it actually makes me consider seeing the movie"

"This book definitely lives up to the hype you may have heard about it. I am often wary of books that are "must reads" because they often let me down. This was a great story that lets us all know that even though your life may not take the planned out path that you once thought it would, sometimes those unexpected turns can make life better than you ever thought possible. It has a little something for everyone."

"The main storyline is based around the fall from grace of a prominent family. While there are plenty of problems in the family that come to light, the driving force is the reaction of the family to the rape of the cheerleader daughter. I found myself annoyed that the family seemed to react to her tragedy in a way that seemed to center around themselves. How it made them feel or how it upset them, at times to the detriment of the true victim herself. It seemed like a lot of whining from well to dos and I found myself rather annoyed through most of the book, but forcing myself to finish it in hopes that it might improve."

"I really liked this book. It was a fun and easy read. I found myself cheering for What-the-Dickens all the way through:)"
