Theirs was a story of love and determination so compelling it has endured for centuries.

This is a really great book. Benny does an excellent job of introducing the reader to the Holy Spirit. It is written in a friendly style - you can imagine sitting over a cup of coffee and just having a friendly conversation about the Anointing. Highly recommended!

"The Captive Bride takes the Winslow family beyond the Pilgrim settlement at Plymouth to assist in building the great new nation. For a time the Winslow dream seemed to have gone down with a sinking ship, but Rachel revives the spark of hope. As free-thinking and spirited as her mother and her grandfather Gilbert, Rachel faces capture by those she wishes to help, pressures to conform, and, ultimitely, a test of forgiveness beyond human accomplishment. Is marriage the only possibility for her? Is her faith her own? Can she face unjust imprisonment-even death-without retreat?"
From Back Cover:
"In this widely praised and beautifully renderd novel, Joseph Olshan gives us the story of the relationship between a small New York boy and the Jamaican woman who starts as his parents' housekeeper and becomes the central figure in his life.
When David's parents return from a trip to Jamaica with the formidable Clara Mayfield in tow, the boy wishes only that she would leave him to the questionable comfort of life with his mother and father. But Clara draws him in-with her warmth, with the colorful sound of her Jamaican patois, with her fierce wisdom...and with the mysteries she holds deep in her heart. Her story-their story-is rich, rewarding, often funny, and always deeply compelling."
