Anne is creative and ends up in much innocent mischief inspite her best efforts to do good. From coloring her hair to accidentally drinking too much cordial, she always seems to be in a mess, but generations can't help but love her. Great read aloud.

I really enjoyed this book very well done. This was the authors first attempt at writing a novel and he does a good job of developing the characters. The story moves along well. The ending is a bit abrupt, but overall a good wholesome story based on the Chicago fires of the late 1800's. Very realistic as to the hardness of some peoples hearts.
