Sassy, sweet, and real! That's Michelle's approach to life and love. This isn't a book about becoming a mindless Barbie doll with accessories. It's a book for women, both single and married, who want to fine-tune some things to help let their inner and outer beauty shine through. She shows women the things that attract a man and open his heart.

This is a story of love, truth, and courage, written by a Christian wife and mother who looked like she had a dream marriage to people on the outside. She knew in her heart that something was wrong, but she didn't know what it was or how to fix it. This is the story of how she came to understand her husband's sex addiction. More than that, it is the story of how God came near and comforted a broken-hearted woman and her children as He also began to heal her husband. If you are married to a man who is using pornography, having multiple affairs, or visiting prostitutes, you will find comfort in this book, encouragement, strength, and practical help to know what to do next. This book was my lifeline for quite a long time. There is hope for you, and this is the best book I know of for women in this confusing place.

This was my first read from this series. I don't like this book nearly as well as those about Hamish. Agatha is an unlikeable woman that I almost want to frame for murder myself. I doubt I'll actually read other books from this series, even if the plot was decent. I like the series hero to be at least somewhat likeable. Agatha could very well become the victim in one of these books for her cheating and sheer mean behavior.

This inspiring story shows women that we can be strong yet nurturing, powerful yet caring. Mary Kay taught me so much through her book about being a business woman as well as a loving mom. She taught women through her example that when we focus on God, family, and then our career, we could reach our dreams without losing the love we need.

This book tells the story of how a missionary family was able to reach members of several canabilistic tribes hidden deep in the jungle and how Christ's love helped them to overcome centuries of hatred, grief, and bitterness. The story is inspiring and gripping. It's pretty bloody in places, so I wouldn't recommend this for young children. My daughter's eighth grade class read it for their required summer reading assignment. The book changed our view of how other people live and deepened our understanding of the act of forgiveness.

This is one of the most readable and interesting biographies I've read. It's written with the same open and colorful style country music fans have come to love in Charley Pride's music. After reading his story, his music sounds even better.

Can parents genuinely help their children understand why things are right or wrong, why God's plan for us is best, and how to pass up such pitfalls as drugs and premarital sex? It's a tall order, but God's Word says we can. The author gives practical ideas for teaching children about God's plan for His people and them specifically. He also shares ideas for overcoming the influence of our ungodly culture.

Is your marriage or friendship in trouble? Set aside your books about relationship rescue and marrige building for awhile. Let the message of this book sink into your soul and try what it says. You will see results, and they will last. Once you learn the skills this book teaches, you will be your spouse's friend, the person your friends want to be with, and the parent your child will trust and love for life. It's not a quick-fix miracle, but sometimes you might think it is. I used the principles in this book to reach out and heal the rift between me and my father and also used it to help my family heal from some painful losses. We laugh together now where there used to be cold silence. I'm so glad I found this book.

This is the best fiction I've read in the past five years or more. Set during the years following the Civil War, this is the story of a white widow with a small son who dares to reach out to the colored people in town with love, medical care, and friendship. It's also the story of a young black man whose heart is filled with bitterness from the cruel treatment his people have suffered and his struggle to overcome it to find healing. It's the story of a former soldier who has seen more than his share of pain and loss. Most of all, this is a story of hope, courage, and the restoration that only God can do when hearts are open to His love. This book made me want to stand up and cheer as I read it.
