Good book. Tempe, as usual, shows her expertise as a scientist and comes through as a winner even though her work is being continually sabotaged. Tempe endeavors to be the ultimate professional in every situation but when the validity of her work is questioned she shows that she is a person who takes pride in herself and in what she does. The book makes you feel a close kindredship to Tempe and you can understand exactly what she's feeling and emphatize with her.
Very good book! Lindsay Boxer of the Women's Murder Club fights to find the attacker of her fellow member of the Club while keeping up with the work required from all the other people pulling at her from all directions.
From what I've read about this time period, this is a true and accurate depiction of this time in Southern Mississippi. It's a brutal characterization of humankind and prejudice against our fellowman. A good read, but sad.
Another good book by Connelly. It's so hard to believe that so many twists and variations can come from one person's mind. This one's about a cop that keeps everyone guessing--is he a good cop or has he gone bad? Lots of intrigue.
Good book. Not the usual spooky, scary Stephen King novel, but still a good rad. In fact, I think I prefer this type of book. About a retarded, but determined, boy who has been mistreated all his life. Even though he's misguided, one can't help but feel empathy for him and wish that somehow things would come out better for him.
