I read this book as a young-teen and enjoyed it. After re-reading again just recently, I still enjoyed it, though it was more Kathryn Reiss's style of writing rather than the story itself. This is definitely a "who-dunnit" and not without plenty of family drama. I think a young-teen or teen would enjoy this book the most.
Through PBS, I've also found a couple more of her books, "Time Windows" and "Pale Phoenix" and look forward to re-reading those as well.

I read this book years ago and remembered how much I enjoyed it. I was so excited to find three of Kathryn Reiss's books all here on PBS! I just finished reading Time Windows for the second time and thoroughly enjoyed it. While I remembered some of what was going to happen which eliminated some of the surprise element, I still believe it to be an incredibly creative & intriguing tale. It has all the elements which I loved as a kid and still enjoy today: old houses, doll houses, time travel, ghosts, emotional trials, etc. etc. Highly suggested for young teen, teen, and adults alike! I might hold on to this one in case I want to read it again in another 10 years :)
