Another great book about the families at Cedar Cove. And just enough suspense and plot to make another wonderful, exciting tale. I could not stop reading until I finished this one! Now I want the next one in this series!!
Emma Lord, editor-publisher of the Alpine Advocate, plans to cover the return of a native daughter, Ursula O'Toole, to Alpine as she comes home to marry her third husband. Rolling in money, she, however, is not a favorite of family or fiance's ex-wife!! When her body is found, many are suspected of not wanting her around!!! Good cozy mystery!
Emma Lord, editor of the small town paper, finds the actors in a play are just too real and the action is deadly for one of them!! Again Mary Daheim has written an exciting tale of murder and mayhem which can only be solved with the help of Emma Lord! Light humor and realistic characters wind their way into the reader's heard!!
A quilting group welcomes back a member who left town years before. Then the discovery of a body adds suspense and makes many members seem nervous for no reason. A great cozy mystery with suspense and light humor mixed with warm characters.
Catherine Penny, a retired librarian from America, has moved to a quaint English village, Far Wychwood, leaving her ex-husband and new playmate in New York to be nearer her daughter and grandson in England. Her future
quickly encloses her in tales of witchcraft as she tries to rescue her new neighbor George Crocker from his burning house! Then the villagers take her in, but she is determined to solve the mystery of the fire and the old man's death. Another Mrs. Marple, she continues her search for discovery of the truth! A very good cozy English mystery!!
Roderick Alleyn, a famous invertigator from Scotland Yard, is called to the scene of a murder involving a model for an art class at the home of painter Agatha Troy, an artist he has just met and who has almost captured his heart! A must-read-to-the-end to solve this one!
I love books by Anne Perry, and this series about Thomas, a policeman, and Charlotte Pitt, his wife are really great! She creates lots of suspense and just enough light humor to keep me turning the pages one by one!!
Inspector Pitt is shocked to find a young boy has been killed, and again his wife Charlotte helps unravel the clues to help solve the mystery. Victorian English characters, usually stiff and unpleasant, are drawn by Anne Perry with warmth and liveliness as Charlotte and her sister Emily invade the "proper" families to discover what has happened!
Soooo Good and humor, too - great cozy mystery in France!!! Faith Fairchild, a minister's wife, visits France for a month with husband Tom and child, Ben. And while getting to know Lyon and French customs as well as the language (and we get to know some, too), Faith, also writing a cookbook, has a dinner party and afterwards while throwing away her garbage finds a body in the trash in the vestibule where they live!!!!
Her adventures take us with her as she wanders around Lyon and as her curiosity takes her closer to the murderer! Very good cozy read!!!!
