"Michael Connelly never disappoints. Harry Bosch is an imperfect man caught by his own demons, but he is very good at his job. The aspects of LA Michael Connelley brings to his books makes you want to go just to visit the areas and sights not on tourist maps. Highly recommended"

"Michael Connelly never disappoints. His Harry Bosch books can be gritty but you can't help but feel deeply for the character"

"Michael Connelley never disappoints. This book is better than the movie by Clint Eastwood. I don't know why they decided to change the end of the book and make the friend and fishing partner the culprit. It didn't leave any room for future books about Terry McCaleb to be immortalized in film as the character in Blood Work they turned into the culprit is in all the following Terry McCaleb stories as his partner is the fishing boat business. Even if you have seen the movie and loved it, read the book because I guarantee you will like the book more."

"2nd book in the Carlucci trilogy....better than the 1st which was awsome!!! I highly recommend this trilogy. Mystery fans, who are not necessarily SciFi fans will love these books also. And if you are familiar with San Francisco today, you will want to know about San Francisco in the future. Highly recommended."

"Love the series. The first book is much like the HBO series, but that is where the similarity ends. The 2nd and 3rd books become more serious, I have not read the 4th but it is on my nightstand."

"The 1st in the Carlucci trilogy will instill the need to read the 2nd and 3rd installments. I cannot recommend this trilogy highly enough, I only wish there were more than 3 books in the series"

"Grey, an Englishwoman fighting her own devils, comes to Japan looking for a piece of rare film footage shot during the 1937 Nanking Massacre and ends up working in a hostess bar. Shi Chongmimg a reclusive scholar who is one of the massacre's few survivors haunted by atrocities he witnessed. The story alternates between the interaction of these characters in present day Japan and Chongming's wrenching account of 1930's Nanking. The Devil of Nanking is a pitch-perfect spine-chilling tour de force, dazzling and creepy and very difficult to put down."
