Fascinating. I felt like I was visiting Thailand and getting an insider's view of life as a cop, Buddhist (Thai flavor, prostitute, foreigners.... it was full of interesting plots and people. I went on to read the next two books which I enjoyed as well.

Not knowing much of the History of WWI, I found this book to be so full of new information that I have gone on to read more about WWI. The story was interesting, especially about the miners from Wales.

Another page turning ride written by Andrew Vachss. He does his homework and knows as much as any author about child molestation. He writes in a sharp, quirky style that I like.

Much better book than I expected. For some reason, I didn't know much about Ms. Picoult and didn't give her books much of a chance. She tackles some tough issues in the two books of her's that I have read and I learned something from each of them.
