Anyway: The Paradoxical Commandments : Finding Personal Meaning in a Crazy World
Review Date: 8/8/2006

"These ten principles were first ariculated by Kent Keith as a student at Harvard in the 1960's. Since then, unbeknownst to him, they were quoted, circulated, and appropriated by countless people-pliticians and academics, civic and religious leaders, businesspeople, students, and nonprofit organizations. They were taped to computer monitors, refrigerator doors, and to the walls of Mother Teresa's children's home in Calcutta.
It was upon learning of this last appearance that Kent Keith finally began to discover that his Paradoxical Commandments had traveled around the world and back again. And he was moved to put his commandments, the philosophy behind them, and the stories that bring them to life into this modern credo for living well, being happy.... and doing good anyway."

"Based on the televison series of the same name, John Bradshaw focuses on the dynamics of the family, how the rules and attitudes learned while growing up become encoded within each family member. As 96% of all families are to some degree emotionally impaired, the unhealthy rules we are now living by are handed down from one generation to another and ultimately to society at large. Our society is sick because our families are sick. And our families are sick because we are living by inherited rules we never wrote.

John Bradshaw, through this positive life-affirming book, guides us out of our dysfunction to wholeness and teaches us that bad beginnings can be remedied.Families can be healed as we as individuals can be healed. And when we heal ourselves,we heal the world.

This book may be the most important book you'll ever read!"

"What could the King want with an unkempt urchin?

Even one as sensuous as a fairy queen? Wolfram Colston could not fathom the royal command to bring Kathryn Somers to Court. A hoydenish sprite, she was nothing like the nobles ladies of London-yet everything like the woman of his dreams!

No matter what was whispered about her heritage, Kit Somers refused to go off with Sir Colston, a lone wolf of a knight pledged to Henry V, for how would her betrothed ever find her? And what would be her fate if she rode away in the arms of such a brooding, darkly handsome man?"

"by John Gray Ph.D
Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.........Children are From Heaven.
After years of experience leading communications workshops, and honing his own parenting skills, John Gray has created a brilliantly original and effective system that he calls positive parenting, for children of all ages; from birth through the teenage years.
Central to this new approach are the positive msessages your children need to learn again and again;
1) it's okay to be different
2) it's okay to make mistakes
3) it's okay to express negative emotions
4) it's okay to want more
5) it's okay to say no, but remember Mom and Dad are the bosses."

"On a New Year's Day, Detective Harry Bosch fields a call that a dog found a bone.....a bone that the dog's owner,a doctor, feels certain is a human bone.

Bosch investigates, and that chance discovery leads him to a shallow grave in the Hollywood hills, evidence of a murder committed more than twenty years earlier. It's a cold case, but it stirs up Bosch's memories of his own childhood as an orphan in the city.He can't let it go.Digging through police reports and hospital records, tracking down street kids and runaways from the 1970's,Bosch finds a family ripped apart by an absence.....and a trail, ever more tenuous, into a violent, terrifying world.
As the case takes Bosch deeper into the past,a rookie cop named Julia Brasher brings him alive in the present in a way no one has in years. Bosch has been warned about the trouble that comes with dating a rookie, but no warning could withstand the heat between them....or prepare Bosch for the explosions when the case takes a hard turn. A suspect bolts, acop is shot, and suddenly Bosch's cold case has all of L.A. in an uproar....and Bosch's fighting to keep control in a lawless and brutal showdown.
Drawing on the "precision-tooled twists" and "wellspring of authentically lurid detail"( Los Angeles) that have made him one of the fastest-selling novelists at work today,Michael Connelly has written a riveting,hard-edged,and unforgettable thriller."

Easterner Maggie Donovan trembles with pleasure at her first glimpse of Bronson Kane-unaware that this dangerously handsome Texas rancher whom she has traveled across a country to wed sight unseen is, in reality, a half-breed Comanche known as White Wolf.
