Excellent and helpful for practical living. It is a compilation of several different inspirational writers. Oswald Chambers, Hannah W. Smith, James Dobson, Andrew Murry, Joni Eareckson Tada, Jerry Bridges, just to name a few. Lots of information on family living.
This three hour audio is another one of Siddons' great stories. Maude Chambliss learns the "rules" from her mother-in-law Hannah of how to keep alive the spirit of past generations in this beloved summer retreat.
Excellent read about two schoolboys from New Jersey who flew a Piper Cub they rebuilt in their barn across country. Also brings out the challenges they boys faced getting along with each other and their father.
This book is by the same author that wrote "The Eyre Affair" and is very comparable to that. Thursday Next checks in and out of book worlds to solve mysteries and also experiences self discovery. Very interesting and enjoyable reading. Very well written
An excellent and well-written fictional novel based on the life of Biblical Esther. I ordered extra copies to pass out to friends because the author managed to give me an appreciation for this courageous Bible character that I'd not had before. He portrays her deep faith in God and her wisdom and preparedness on two occasions, when forced to approach the king. I highly recommend it, and if you haven't seen the movie "One Night with the King," which is based on this novel, I recommend that you see it after reading the book.
In my opinion, The Secret of Lost Things was a satisfying read about a group of folks working in a NY Book shop. I found this to be a well-written interesting read, with a tiny bit of mystery, that held my attention throughout. Hay's characters are well developed and their quirks framed the plot nicely.
