"I loved this book in the series. It kept me guessing the entire time about what would happen next. It had humorous and tantalazing scenes. It also showed glimpes into the other main characters personalities and histories instead of just focusing on just the one character's story as most sequels in a series do. I suggest starting from the beginning of the series if you are new to the Vegas Vampires series and keep in mind, their story gets better as the series moves along."

"This book is the first in the Mortal Instruments series. It is about the shadow world which lives among us but only people born of the shadow world can see it. There are warriors that are half human and half angel that protect the mundanes (normal humans) from demons. A teenage girl falls into the shadow world when she sees the warriors kill a demon and then her mother is attacked. The girl w/ the warriors help, has to find out her mothers past and secrets in order to save her.
I could not put this book down and the end is shocking. I already bought the second book if that tells you anything. I think this is a great change in series compared to all the more popular ones out there."

"The book is about an American doctor named Shea who is half Carpathian (which is an immortal almost)and does not know it. She believes she has a some kind of a rare blood disease. One night she has a dream about a man being killed and made to suffer and actually feels the pain he is in. She passes it off as a dream until one day two men show up trying to kill her like the man they tortured in her dream. They claim she is a vampire so she escapes and travels to the Carpathian mountains. That is where her father is from and she thinks that her father had the rare blood disease also. She finds the tortured man from her dreams in a cellar and saves him from his prison. It goes on to tell of their struggles between the man's sanity and her accepting what is in her blood. They are soul mates and their love conquers all.
This book was definitely better than the first in the series. The writing style is easier to read and the plot is great. I am glad I kept reading the series after the first book."

"This book is about a group of immortals who's race is dying out. There are few woman and the infant mortality rate is high. The leader is running out of hope, he lost any feelings centuries ago and was about to walk into the sun (which is commit suicide)until a human woman with psychic abilities talks to him. He falls in love with the woman and the book goes on about their trials and love. She becomes the hope for their survival. The book starts off quick and is sometimes hard to follow because the author uses a lot of comparisons but overall I enjoyed it. I am going to read the second book if that tells you anything."

"Don't let the title fool you, this is actually a great first book in a series. The book is about a vampire nation that minics our democracy. The president of the vampire nation has to take a wife and is willing to marry a woman he does not love for the good of the nation. Little did he know that the shorter and curvier sister to this woman will not let her sister go so easily and comes looking for her. His charms do not work on the sister as they do with all woman. She is a strong female character in this book and I love the fact that she is smart and has a career. Plus her and the president's banter back and forth is very humorous. I enjoyed this book and am currently reading the second book in this series which follows the storyline of the president's struggle for re-election against an evil vampire and the struggles with the various other characters in the book."

"This book definitely kept my attention through the whole book. It tells of a different, relious group of people who formed their own town which is mostly made up of family and of their strict life. To tell more would be giving the book away but it has unexpected turns and events. Overall, I enjoyed really this book."
