I enjoyed this book, it is in the perspective of three women. Anne of Cleaves, Katherine Howard and Jane Boyeln, the wife of Anne Boleyn's brother. Jane's character was really expanded on from The Other Boleyn Girl. It gave her a lot more depth and presented her more sympathetically. I really enjoyed learning more about Anne of Cleaves, she reminds me of Katherine of Aragon and her character was very strong, the only survivor of Henry's reign.

A little wordy on the descriptions of the landscapes, but that plays into Inman's long walk home. More adventures than recounted in the movie. I love Ruby and her views on men and war. It's a very good book, and works as a love story, an "odessey" and as historical fiction that shows the reader what the civil war meant to individuals - women, soldier, outlier, slaves, families. Details about the home gaurd and some of the crazy-desperate people were really enlightening about a time that we so often aggrandize and only learn about from the history book perspective.

Very cute fairy tale. A little like Lewis Carrol in its reference to absurd take on conventional fairy tale ideas. funny and endearing.

Excellent book. Timeless. I LOVED the ending, it goes a step farther than the movie.

It was a really well written re-telling of Snow White and Rose Red. I liked that historic facts were incorporated. It reminded me a bit of Midsummer's Night Dream and also Mists of Avalon.
