Havana Storm (Dirk Pitt, Bk 23) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)
Review Date: 5/7/2016

This is a classic Clive Cussler, even including Clive himself showing up somewhere in the book as he always does. It's great as an audio book to keep you awake on a long car ride, as the characters save the world or themselves every few minutes, but it also includes some pretty lame premises and coincidences. All in all, a classic Cussler but not his best.

Classic Patterson, with twists at the end as always. (from back cover) Working as a lifeguard at a luxurious Florida resort, Ned Kelly meets the woman of his dreams. It feels perfect in every way- except that she is used to caviar, and he's used to burgers. So when Ned's cousin offers to cut him in on a fast break-and-enter job, Ned can't turn it down. The risk is high and the reward is even greater- $5M. But the robbery goes devastatingly wrong...

I have always enjoyed Quindlen's writing, especially as she captured so well the lives of my peers and me as we raised our families, in her columns now captured in book form. This writing does't hit the top of the list of her writing, but it still captures thoughtfully and insightfully the impact of corporate decisions on families and communities.
