Another fun read by Christina Skye! A high powered PR exec finds a cool million in her bank account, after her boss had promised her a hefty bonus. Hmm, What to do? After she does just that, she finds out that it wasn't all her money to spend. Her big brother does his best and sends her off to next to nowhere, Arizona under the watchful eye of a trusted friend. Throw in a little Native American myth, and the plot thickens as the heat rises and the sun beats down....
Great characters, set in contemp Seattle and environs. Responsible, hardworking Molly is the trustee of her quirky inventor Dad's foundation. She hires brilliant, sexy, impossible Harry, PhD,to weed out phony applicants interested in scamming money from her Dad's foundation. Logic and a sixth sense help unravel a deadly stalker's plans as Molly and Harry trade secrets. Fun.
This is an Unusual story which introduces the heroine as a blind infant found afloat after a storm off the coast of Scotland. She is raised in freedom and isolation by someone known to her only as Grandmother on the Island of Wild Horses. Years pass. A ship is wrecked during a violent storm, leaving a battle worn warrior on the beach. He brings the outside world filled with sorrow, pain, and political complications, forcing growth and change in all their lives. Some sizzle and zing!
Not just the story of opposites attracting, the characters are almost beleivable. He is full of life and energy, she is horribly reserved- to the point of almost having no feelings. Acts of God, earthquakes in this case, move the plot along.
Imaginative erotica writer checks into an exclusive hedonistic resort in Las Vegas only to be caught up in a murder the day she arrives. She meets studly AZ fire marshall who tags along to murder investigation. Ms. Prim and Proper realizes she can learn more from fire marshall than resort staff, and in exchange she contributes insight to investigation. Lots of research and development for her next book!
Good western, tells the story of how the only surviving member of a Missouri farm family tracks down their brutual killers. She dresses like a boy and practices shooting until she's fast and accurate. she meets up with a famous gunfighter and his fan club as they all work out their issues.
I tried to read this. I really really did. I read for the escape, the story, the brilliance of the insight, the characters- a lot of things this book did not have. I felt like I was reading a coloring book.
I admit to a definite bias: I cannot tolerate the suggestion that the Lord is responsible for everything- while the book's characters aren't.
Story based on a college friendship between 4 women, one of whom writes a book on how to be successful. The former roomies realize that the book uses the three of them as examples of non-successful women, outlining their flaws. The three women realize that the writer, Jane is right and they each agree to face their issues within the coming 12 months. The first one to take the challenge is Madeline, who hid her artistic talent as she dealt with her husband's illness. Now widowed, she agrees to work as an artist and get her art accepted into a gallery. She has to go back and face her first love on the way to the gallery....
Kind of poignant retelling of English medieval history with two very funny characters. There's a mystery of star crossed lovers in the past, very blunt religious restrictions and a down right evil antagonist. Very likeable characters.
Almost didn't want to give this up.
