"Classic "Trash" from the 1960s or was it early 1970s. It is not as sexual explicit as today's "trashy" novels and that may help the book rather than hinder it. No, I wouldn't call it well written and certainly not sensitive. It is "erotic" if you like the Robbins style of eroticism. Robbins wrote more for men than he did for women. I'm sure a lot of men would love to aspire to the sexual prowess of a Robbins character, however most women would agree "real men just ain't like that""

"Very fast paced, can't put it down type of book. BUT it drove me NUTS that everything in this book was supposed to have taken place over a few hours and in "real" time 99% of the events in the book that took seconds or minutes, would have taken 10 to a thousand times longer! This guy could race across the entire crowded city of Rome fater than I could get from one end of my own home to the other!!"

"These captions are great FUN!!

Even more fun is going through the book and taking the captions and applying them to the pictures in your own "people" album. It's amazing how you can add hours of laughter to a family pictures with the addition of a real off-the-wall caption. You can actually make the most BORING pictures hilarious with the right caption!

Try It - You'll Like It!!"

"I haven't seen the movie and so I'm not "tainted" by the Hollywood view of this story.
It is very well written, very simple story. The story is simply told in an understated but beautiful manner. There are no graphic details to shock. Even the death of one of the characters is understated."
