"took a bit to get into this one but when I did I couldnt put it down! The end of the world as we know it after world war II. Hitler sends bombs armed with the Blood Death. Only certain blood types live and the apocalypse has one hero who can save the day. Great fun to read, lots of action, doesnt slow once it gets going!!"

"I think he should stick to zombies. The plot was so redundant I gave up and didnt even read the last 30 pages because how many pages can you just fight off vampires with nothing happening?? zzzzzzzzzzzz"

"Cormac McCarthy's sage of a two young friends set out to Mexico for an adventure that leads them to love, prison, murder, and growing up. The poetry with which this man writes leaves awesome pictures of the countryside he loves as well as the horses. An true western."

"Ok I absolutely loved this book. It is one of the scariest books Ive ever read because this guy has all the tools to keep killing forever!! It will disgust you and make you laugh too at the shallowness which allows this killer to keep on killing! Really an indictment of American wall street society only I dont think it was just during the 80s he could get away with this, might still be one out there right now!! Disturbing read. Not for those who shy away from outright bloodbaths or explicit sexual scenes. How do some people think a monster would act anyway??"

"I read Mr. Carr because of the way he writes about New York in the early 20th centure. I feel I am there and his accuracy is due to the length of research which must go into his books! That said, I felt this was a worthwhile task for almost 800 pages! Wow! but He ties it all up in the end! Its just takes lots of reading to get there!!"

"I agree with the other reviewer that for such BiG concepts the book is awfully short. Its as if the author wrote this big outline and then didnt want to write enough to fill it all in. The ending is corny and rushed. A book that is filled with great ideas but short on character development. Relies too much on cliches and surprises that we expect. A mediocre effort at best."

"I enjoyed my first Michael Slade book. He is very gruesome but has obviously thoroughly researched the subject of this book:Cannabalism. He puts it in an entertaining plot which wanders around but comes back to the point in good time. A nice "fun" read."

"this starts out with the characters from vigil transplanted to LA. They both become caught up in an arabs biblical book that has many secrets within! The problem I had with this book was that I wanted to hear more about the story line started in the first book but he chose to not go into that much which disapointed me."
