The brain is an amazing organ indeed. Here we have 7 paroxical tales of neurological disorders and creativity. How do neurological disorders relate to creativity? How do patients compensate for loss of neurologic function? How can a surgeon operate despite the outbursts of Tourette's syndrome or how can an artist paint if he loses his ability to see color? I've liked all of Dr. Sacks' books and this one is one his best.
Your power is out and no telling when it will be on? What do you do, what do you eat? Or you've had a tornado zoom by, or a terrorist attack! How do you survive? This book is packed with information on how to store food, water, how to prepare food in an emergency, how to store food in your pantry for emergencies, etc. It's basically about food and menu planning, one of the key elements of emergency survival.
Older book, but has 100 illustrations including 49 charts in 8 colors. 1970 (human bodies haven't changed much since then) A nice little book for students and illustrators and those interested in what goes on inside there.
This is an OLD 1939 book, for those of you who like or collect vintage books. Bambi's Children is the by the same author of Bambi and I suppose the sequel to Bambi. There are some nice b&w illustrations in the book but the pages are tanning and the book does not have a dust cover.
