I have not seen the movie- but after reading the book, see why Hollywood could not do it successfully. Deep, incredibly well written- wonderful phraseology (if that is a word. There is a reason the author has won many awards.

I only read the book because it was the only one left on my list of top books of the 20th century-and because I read "Reading Lolita in Tehran." But- it is something that should be read. Excellent writing.

I had no idea what type of adventure I was embarking on when I started this book. Kind of a bizarre "Fantasy Island" experience. Worth the trip. Listed as one of the top books of the the 20th Century by Random House.
