Started out slow, but ended up pretty surprising. I'm glad I read it.

While trying to find the location of the "surprise" engagement party planned by her mother, Angie inadvertently manages to interfere in two of Paavo's investigations.

This is a really cute cooking mystery series and the main character is different and interesting. Cool settings.

Another funny story with Angie right smack in the middle of all of the trouble.

Great series. Angie's control-freak mom wants to plan the party celebrating Angie's engagement to homicide detective Paavo Smith. Angie's friendly neighbor, Stan, is infatuated with a mysterious, very pregnant kitchen helper at a nearby Greek eatery-and in the related sudden death by very unnatural causes of a celebrated do-gooder.....
Chef and freelance food writer Angie Amalfi is not about to let her control-freak of a mother plan her engagement party. But Angie has too much to do, like deal with a homicide, to let her see to it herself.
After her neighbor, Stan, gets involved with a pregnant kitchen helper at a nearby restaurant, Angie becomes involved in their problems as well. All of which lead to a mysterious disappearance and yet another homicide. Will Angie live to see her engagement party to Homicide Detective Paavo Smith, or will this be the end?
This was a very nice series. Wish there were more.
