In the story of the final Wallflower, Daisy, I think her story was just okay. It didn’t help that the story before was Devil in Winter, a favorite for all romance readers. I found myself a bit bored with Daisy’s story. I think there was not a huge focus on the couple, but involved previous Wallflowers, which did not work in the connection between the two. Some moments in the story were amusing, the key incident and I think that the ring was so romantic! Unfortunately, the story was forgettable, but it’s not a reason to not finish the series. I have really enjoyed the Wallflower series, but this one was my least favorite.

Another great Kleypas novel. If you are new to her books, don't start with this one as it references other charachters - but a great read once you've finished the others.

The last of the wallflowers, Daisy Bowman has been given an ultimatum by her father. Either find a husband, or marry the man he picks for her...Matthew Swift. Daisy doesn't want anything to do with Matthew, remembering him as a sober man who never smiles. But when Daisy meets Matthew again, sparks fly.
This was my least favorite of Kleypas' Wallflower series. Even though both the hero and heroine are both likeable characters, I kept waiting for something interesting to happen. If you are reading the series, I would still read it for the closure. But in my opinion, it is just your average historical romance.

The last of the wallflowers, this one doesn't disappoint. It's fun, but like many romances, it seems like the heroine changes her mind conveniently. But, that doesn't detract from the read.

Another fun story about the wallflowers! This time it's Daisy Bowman. Her father has told her he will force her to marry a man of his choosing if she doesn't find a husband soon.

After spending three London seasons searching for a husband, Daisy Bowman's father has told her in no uncertain terms that she must find a husband. Now. And if Daisy can't snare an appropriate suitor, she will marry the man he chooses--the ruthless and aloof Matthew Swift.
Daisy is horrified. A Bowman never admits defeat, and she decides to do whatever it takes to marry someone...anyone...other than Matthew. But she doesn't count to Matthew's unexpected charm...or the blazing sensuality that soon flares beyond both their control. And Daisy discovers that the man she was always hated just might turn out to be the man of her dreams.
But right at the moment of sweet surrender, a scandalous secret is uncovered...one that could destroy both Matthew and a love more passionate and irrestible than Daisy's wildest fantasies.

Typical bodice-ripper.
I liked this book. It reminded me of a combination of Pride and Prejudice and the Mark/Juliet storyline from Love Actually.

Couldn't even finish it. Which is odd for me since I trooper through even disapointing story lines. But with so many more promising reads on my TBR pile, there was no way I was going to waste time with this bit of nonsense. Curious it is to me that this novel has garnered so many positive ratings. Mahaps I seek too much in a mere romance novel. Must contemplate lowering standards....
What made this one so insufferable was the fact that it's the fourth in a series. I'll admit maybe I would have enjoyed it a tad more had I previously read the segueing three novels, (and I have every intention of reading Devil in Winter at some point). But in my opinion, the failure of this story is flat out author laziness. She had all three previous couples in this novel. Yes, that's right: All bloody three of them. So instead of having to make one hero look dashing and desirable to one heroine, the author tried to outdo herself with one former hero saying something dashing which was followed up by the second book's hero saying something equally witty. After the third book's hero made some intelligent (yet humorous, of course) response (while being the model husband and father) I just had too much. Must we watch four men compete for "man of the year"? I want ONE hero per book, thank you very much. Two if you're a really superior writer. But four? I mean, seriously.
This book was less about the actual couple in question and more the author relying on the previous three couples to carry her word count. Add to that the fact that neither this book's hero or heroine were all that compelling and you've got yourselves a stinker Ladies and Gentleman.
I recommend a fervent pass on this one.
Excellent story, great read! Lisa Kleypas never disappoints!
I don't have the whole series but I'd recommend this book to anyone who is interested in these types of romance.

This is the fourth book in the Wallflower series and it was pretty good.
Miss Bowman has to marry before her father forces her to marry a man in his employ. A man her father values. Only when Mr Swift makes his apperance he is not the little man Miss Bowman had remembered from the past. He has changed into a good looking man and starts to catch her off guard. How could she have been so wrong. Swift has always cared for Miss Bowman and has admired her mostly from afar. But he has secrets and feels he would never have a woman like her.
A very enjoyable read. The third book in the Wallflower series.

Like all readers of the Wallflower series, I anxiously awaited Daisy's story. I think that its an excellent addition to the series. Daisy and Matthew are a wonderful couple and Matthew has some heart melting lines. The secret that Matthew is hiding winds up sounding trivial at the end of the book, although I know that if it were my life, I would think it was the worst thing in the world too. The hardest thing to believe is the unwavering support that Matthew receives from the Bowmans. Otherwise, its a lovely story and a very good book. As other reviewers have mentioned, I wish there were more time to catch up with couples aside from Lillian and Marcus. A little more details on Evie and Sebastian would have been appreciated.
The Lisa Kleypas books are awesome. I have read the enitre Wallflower series and it is great! I couldn't put them down.
Wonderful, Wonderful...I love returning characters so much! This was not as strong as the others in her series (in my opinion) but it was just as enjoyable because it was like being with friends.

The last of the wall-flowers, Daisy is in search of a husband. Is she can't find a husband by herself, her father insists she will marry Matthew Swift. A man who works for him and is more like a son than his own sons. Daisy is horrified. Matthew is the last person she would want to marry, at least that's what she thinks until she sees him again, after 2 years he has changed more than should be possible. But right at the moment of sweet surrender, a scandalous secret is uncovered...one that could destroy both Matthew and a love more passionate and irresistible than Daisy's wildest fantasies.
Another in the "Wallflower" Series. I have loved this whole series, and this story is no exception. All the characters from the past books show up, and you can glimpse where their lives have taken them. Daisy and Matthew are the focus of a fine, although reluctant romance.

Daisy Bowman is the last "wallflower" to find love and a happy ending!
Towards the end, I felt the story slowed a bit and the "secret past" was rather meek when all was said and done, but overall still I loved it! The worst thing...there are no more "wallflowers."
This was a cute, "fluffy," lite romance; a quick read. The last of the Wallflower Series; Daisy (Marguerite) Bowman's story. I found it to be merely "okay."
I really do long for the characters and stories that Kleypas used to write; e. g., Lady Holly Taylor and Zachary Bronson in "Where Dreams Begin." None of her current stories can be compared to her older books.
