Kind of fluffy but a very good read. Funny cast of characters. I enjoyed it but read it in an afternoon.

The "detective" is a wedding planner and the "victim" is a difficult mother-of-the-bride. You will laugh all the way through this novel and will be guessing "who-did-it" until the end!
Winner of "BEST FIRST NOVEL AT MALICE DOMESTIC."

The murder of a particularly difficult mother-of-the-bride has cast a pall on wedding planner Annabelle Archer's latest triump--and suspicion falls heavily on her sometime-business partner and friend Richard Gerard. Annabelle knows that even her trusted wedding emergency kit won't be able to salvage their careers if she and Richard can't find the real culprit.

I really like this author's sense of humor! Her main character, Annabelle Archer, seems so real to me and struggles with the same things most of us struggle with: keeping house, weight, eating right, staying organized. The Mother of the Bride has been a real bear to deal with and everyone hates her. Many, after meeting her, said they'd like to kill her. Unfortunately, someone does. Annabelle and her caterer/friend, Richard, and her helper, Kate embark on the solving of the murder since the police suspect Richard's food may have killed her. A second murder just increases the suspicion. After some hilarious, goofy and even dangerous events, we finally discover "who dun it". Great twist to the story. I enjoyed it very much and will read more of this series.

This is the first of a fun cozy series about a wedding planner who encounters a murder at one of her weddings. I have never heard of the author before this book, but I really enjoyed it and continued on to read the rest of the series, which is equally good.

This is such an enjoyable book. A lighthearted mystery that keeps you guessing right up to the end.
Great, fast, entertaining read!
Annabelle Archer is a wedding planner in Georgetown with two hysterical sidekicks, Kate, her scantily clad assistant who can never get an expression right, and Richard Gerard, friend, caterer and sometime-business partner. When the mother-of-the-bride turns up dead at a wedding Richard becomes a suspect. They will try to solve the murder mystery together in order to salvage their careers. This was a fun, light read. I look forward to the next book in the series! Wedding Belles, clever name!
