Book Reviews of New York Dead (Stone Barrington, Bk 1)

This is the first in the Stone Barrington series and was published in 1991. I had read the third book in the series, Dirt, after finding it abandoned somewhere while I was traveling. I liked it so much that I requested the entire Stone Barrington series through paperbackswap.com. New York Dead wasn't as good as Dirt in my opinion, but it was still a very good, light read. I like starting a series from the beginning so that I get to know all the recurring characters. If I had read this book before Dirt, I would still have been intrigued to get the whole set. These books are just light enough, as well, to read in-between the heavy duty historical non-fiction that I enjoy so much.

It took me about 100 pages or so to get into this story and these characters. But after I did it was really a great story. My first Stuart Woods book but definitely not my last. I look forward to the next Stone Barrington book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I especialy liked the characters and the plot. The book kept my interest until the end.

In this book he gets 'retired' due an injury to his knee from the force. Now he goes into his second career as a New York lawyer. I really enjoy the series by author Stuart Woods.

Suspenseful and surprising says the Atlanta Constitution. They were right. I like Stuart Woods and this book just made me want to read more.

Great Stone Barrington book

I look forward to reading the rest of the series, this had me laughing out loud at one particular point.

Thius is a Stone Barrington novel, and is very good. I have read all of this series.
