Book Reviews of The Accidental Vampire (Argeneau Vampires, Bk 7)

I'm not generally a big fan of comic paranormal romance, but this one actually did make me laugh. Small town gal Elvi got accidentally turned into a vampire five years ago and all she knows about how to be one comes from Dracula movies, but her entire town supports her and takes care of her, donating blood and building her a custom coffin. It's all very silly and charming. Some hot sex scenes, too.

Victor's story is as enjoyable as all the other Argeneau clan. Elvi's misconceptions as a new vamp are humorous tinged with sadness. Each story can stand alone, but I strongly recommend reading them in order to understand the family dynamics.

Book #7 in the series and just as well written as the first 6. Since each book can stand alone you don't have to read them in order, however to understand the family history you should...
Victor thinking he's after a rouge vampire is surprised to find Elvi Black and accidental vampire who only knows about being a vampire from the Dracula movie. Victor has to teach her everything he knows...

I was disappointed with this book. I found that the hero and heroine sometimes behaved out of established character and the ending felt rushed. One particular plotline that the leads were worried about throughout the entire book suddenly became a non-issue in one sentence and the main drama also became a non-issue with simply a shrug. It seems as if the author wanted everyone to have a happy ending and the last chapter wrapped everything up nice and neat with a pretty bow on top. This is the second time I've been disappointed with a book in the Argeneau series based on uncharacteristic and/or stupid decisions made by the leads.

Kind of slow in the beginning but it gets so much better. It is really cool how elvi becomes a vampire. So different!

by accident? Yes indeed. How did that happen, worth reading the book to find out. More fun than I expected. That does not mean the immortals are not intense but the Accidental Vamp is cute, sexy and a great read.

I read this book first and didn't know it was part of a series. I liked that the author had a new "take" where vampires come from and how they are not the evil dead. I just recently finished books 1, 2, and 3. It seems that you do not have to read them in a certain order to understand what is going on and each book is good enough to stand on it's own, but you will get a spoiler on who gets married.... and might ruin the ending of previous books so I would suggest starting them in order. I actually think the author is funny, and has a easy flowing writing style that makes for a fun, quick read. I think so far book 3 is my fav!

I like the series. However, Laurell Hamilton is stil my favorite.

I read this book about a month ago (in two days), and as always I love Lynsay Sands books. They have the right amount of paranormal, mixed with humor and most importantly a smooth flowing writing style that makes it hard to put the book down. I recommend anyone who is a fan of paranormal romance to read this book!

I loved this books. All of the books in this series have been great but this one is by far is the best. Elvi(short for Elvira,not actually her name)was bitten by a vampire and now spends her days in a coffin, avoiding garlic, and pulling the tight black dresses, that she thinks she has to wear, into place. One of her friends puts a personal ad in the paper to get her a vamp boyfriend and as you can expect it goes outragously down hill from there. This book was so funny that I caught myself laughing out loud several times. I could just picture some of the well meaning town folk(I also come from a small town)making the kind of well meant remarks that Elvi had to put up with. Was unable to put it down until I reached the end. Luckily, I have the next two in the series so I can continue on in the Argeneau world for a few more days.

This was the first book I read by Lynsay Sands and I'm hooked! I love the Argeneau series. An ad in the romance column finds a naive vampire in a world of trouble. Her friends thought they were helping her but they have actually opened her up to a world of vampire laws and rules that she had no idea of. This is a great read.

I love Lynsay Sands for her humor and her original concept of 'vampires'! This series is awesome...cute, funny and romantic. Not the deep dark undead of years ago but a terrific light read when you are in the mood for fun!

out of all the argeneau vampires, this one is by far the weakest. In both character dynamics and in plot. The series is better off without it so my advice would be to skip it altogether. This is definitely a library read (if you absolutely MUST read it) and not worth your credits OR money.

The plot isn't realistic AT all. And most of the characters are a one-note.

Also, if you are familiar with the whole finding the perfect mate and finding that one person is incredibly difficult... 5 people in this book find their "one true love". Complete BS. Read at own discretion.

Another great Argeneau book. This time we get to meet Victor, Lucien's brother. For me, this was the most humorous of the Argeneau books.

I like this series because you really don't have to read the others to understand what is going on. Each has a different main character and characters we have met just pop in and out.

Eh, I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but I can't get into Lynsay Sands vampire books.

I rather read J.R. Ward, Lara Adrian and Karen Marie Moning (Highlanders, and Fae's).

I really liked this book. It was a quick read and the blot kept me interested until the end. I liked all the new characters introduced in this book. I definitely recommend this one.

The Accidental Vampire was an excellent read.
Five years ago sixty-something Elvi found herself turned into a vampire after a tourist bus accident. She was on vacation in Mexico, one that she was unsure she should take but the entire town encouraged her to go on with her best friend. Her maker was unaware of the incident therefore left the scene. Elvi struggled with her new life and turned to science fiction and her friends to help her learn how to be a vamprie. So for the last five years Elvi has avoided garlic and crosses, only worn black and has slept in a dirt-filled coffin.
When Elvi's friends place a personal ad seeking a male vampire to keep her company when they pass on, Victor answers the ad to investigate whether a real vampire or a just a vamp-wanna-be is responsible. Then enters the good looking Victor Argeneau who has dedicated his life to eliminating rogue vampires as an enforcer for the vampire council of North America after losing his wife centuries ago to vamprie hunters. Vamp law mandates keeping a low profile and the penalty for attracting human attention is death. Victor is horrified to discover that the whole town knows about Elvi. After meeting Elvi, Victor finds himself torn between duty and the instant overwhelming attraction towards her. Not only does he have to decide her fate he has to keep her alive while someone is trying to kill her.
It is an amusing story one in which several vamps find their life mates.

I love this series. I have yet to be bored with the Argeneau Family. This is a neat little twist to vampires and how they could survive in our everyday world. Of course this makes for a good romance between mortals and immortals.

I must admit that I was a bit disappointed in this one. I just felt that it pushed the ridiculous to the very extreme. I mean I can understand how she accidentally became a vampire, but that her whole little town would basically protect her and use her at the same time? Come on. Something was just missing in this one, and I didn't find it near as enjoyable as I have the others I read.

I have read quite a few by Lynsay Sands and I like her work. This series puts a different spin on how vampires are perceived. Not only are they accepted but a whole town embraced their resident vamp. I got several laughs from this book. My daughter and I both thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I requested this book because of the positive reviews. It was fun to read. A little more sexy than my usual choice... not my style, i'm afraid. but it was fun, and quick.

Once again, another great book by Sands. I love the whole Argeneau Series.

Paranormal romance. Book seven in a series. Part of the Argeneau family. Victor the alpha male teaches Elvi the "how to's" of being a vampire. Hot romance and action.

Great Book!

this one gave me lots of chuckles. As always a fun, enjoyable read.

A wonderful series by Lynsay Sands. If you read one you need to read the whole series.

Very humerous, in some places totally laugh out loud! If you're a fan of the Argeneau Vampires, you'll love this book!

I am not sure if I was supposed to be able to buy this book yet but I went to a small shop in my hometown and there it was. I snatched it up and burned through it in a matter of hours. It was a great read, and kept up with the quality of the other books in the series. Victor is another Argeneau man from the other side of the family tree. I don't know how I feel about these books. I like reading about Margurite's own children and can't wait to read about her!

So excited!!
