Book Reviews of At Home in Mitford (Mitford)

One of the books in the Mitford / Father Tim series. I read all the books in the series and enjoyed every one of them. Light and easy reading with many heart warming stories 'within' a story about community, good stewardship, friendship, love and more. Not my usual genre but I enjoyed Jan Karon's writing immensely. All the books in the series made the rounds of my book loving friends, and we all agreed, we wish there was at least 'one' more to read.

The first book in the Mitford series.

LOVE IT. I fell in love with this series from the very beginning. I have come to think of the characters as family, I care about what happens to them. I will be sad when the series ends.

When I first started reading this book, I was a little bit skeptical about whether I would like it or not, but it soon began to grow on me, as I became more familiar with the characters. Well before the end, I began to love it, and now I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

This is a wonderful book with a Christian setting. It takes you back to the small towns of past days. The characters are very entertaining.

Excellent book! All about people living in the town of Mitford with a priest being one of the main characters. Note: No cussing in this book.

Love the Mitford series!

The first book in the Midford series. In the front it says
"Jan Karon writes to applaud the extraordinary beauty of ordinary lives" I think that is a great description. It would be great to have a friend like Father Tim.

This isn't my type of book.

Mitford is a charming little village that becomes like second home to the reader. Its rector, Father Tim, is a bachelor, enjoying the benefits of a small village such as getting to know everyone in town. This book is full of mystery, love, and village intrigue and will leave readers longing for more as it draws them into the life of Father Tim.

It took me two or three chapters to get into this book, but once I did, I found it a good read. The characters are interesting, and the storyline is enjoyable. I would love to visit Mitford!
