Horrifyingly bad. Kenyon is unreadable. I don't know why everyone likes her books so much. Absolute tripe. Talk about milking a franchise to death.

Fast! A very fast read. Couldn't put it down, I had to know what was going to happen next. Then of course the ending had me to where I want to know more of that. Must read more of this writer's stuff. She is good!

This one is awsome. The woman that the main Dark Hunter gets hooked up with is so strong and feminine. I love Sherrilyn Kenyon. Sexy and smart books.

I read this and although I am a HUGE fan of vampire romance and thrills. This book was a little too far-fetched for me. I love fiction, but this seemed a bit ridiculous at times. Definitely not my favorite author for the paranormal romance genre.

I can honestly say that I have not loved every book in this series. I do recommend this one.

A Dark-Hunter novel. Susan, the hottest investigative reporter on the Beltway, was set up and her reputation destroyed. Now the only job she can get is as a reporter for a small paper writing stories about killer moths and alien babies. Life cannot get any worse....until she is called to the local animal shelter to get information from a friend about a breaking story, and the advice to get out of town as soon as she writes the story. Taking home a cat as a cover for her reason for being at the shelter she endures her constant sneezing caused by her allergies. Once home, her plan to leave the animal in his box until it can be picked up changes when the animal appears to be choking from a too tight collar. Pulling the strange collar off, she turns away and turns back to find a gorgeous - and - lethal shapeshifter on her floor....naked. Inadvertently pulled into another world, she must become a Squire and swear secrecy or else. How Susan handles her introduction to shifters, Dark-Hunters, the Daimons they hunt and her growing attraction to the "kitty" she is allergic to provides humor to this DH story.

Susan Michaels is coerced by a friend into adopting a cat despite her allergies. Her new pet turns out to be Were-Hunter Ravyn Kontis, a gorgeous and lethal shapeshifter.

As with all of Kenyon's books.... this was amazing and I couldn't put the book down! A must read!

Not bad, this one was also surprisingly good. I liked the humor and whit of the main characters. I also really liked kick ass Susan, she held her own in a fight against the Daimons and in my books that's awesome. I like it, plot line continues and of course Omnicent Ash comes in and saves the day. Can' wait for his.

I made the mistake of reading this as a stand alone, If you have the other books, I suppose this could be an great series.

The first book of Sherrilyn Kenyons I ever read. Before I ever knew what a Hunter was. Needless to say I was hooked. I can sympathize in the cat allergy and the wat it was played out was humorous as well as very sexy.

Kenyon gets better with every book. The only down side to this book was it didn't really have an ending. The story line stopped - happy place to stop - but not a traditional dark-hunter ending.

Loved it. Can't get enough of this series.

Paranormal Romance. Lots of X-rated fun in the dark.

From back cover: Susan Michaels was the hottest reporter on the Beltway Beat until she walked into a setup that ruined her reputation. Now she's working for a small Seattle paper, penning stories about killer moths and alien babies, convinced that her life couldn’t get any worse...
That was before an idea for a breaking news piece brought her to a local animal shelter where she ends up listening to her source rant about vampires and gets coerced into adopting a cat despite her allergies. But when her new pet suddenly reveals himself to be a gorgeous-and lethal-shapeshifter, Susan realizes that there's far more at stake than a career-saving by-line.
Born into a world of predators, Were-Hunter Ravyn Kontis was betrayed by those he loved best. Soulless, pitiless, he has spent three hundred years battling the Daimons who seek to subjugate humankind. Against all odds, Susan evokes in Ravyn feelings of tenderness. Desire. Love. And with the ultimate battle about to begin, this one very human woman holds the power to shatter both their worlds...

I thought that this was a pretty awesome book. I love all of Kenyon's DH novels. This one was a little different - characters that I wasn't familiar with from previous books (that's one fo the things that I love - when you get to know the characters from multiple books), but it was still good.

Was so-so, all of her books seem so similar

I got hooked on the Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon after reading Fantasy Lover (book 1). I must say the earlier novels were a bit better but overall I liked Dark Side of the Moon. Even though you don't really need to read the eariler novels to understand this book I would recommend it. It's nice to know the history of the other characters and see what they are up to. Why else would you read a series? I can't wait for Ash's story!!

I picked up this book at the airport not noticing it was essentially a romance novel. Smut aside, the story was really good. :)

Another great book in the Dark-Hunter Series. Love how characters in this series are intertwined. Very detailed stories that pull you in...you don't want to put it down...and wait with baited-breath for the next installment!

A great book. But I love all of SK's dark hunter books.

This book was a fun read!! It has a little bit of everything; paranormal, suspense, romance, suspense.

This was the second novel I read in this series and I really liked it. However, the books get a little repetative once you have read three or four of them.

Tierney W. (Tierney) reviewed on 5/21/2007...

This one does not have the flow that Kenyon's other DH series have, it wasn't one of her better novels.
There was some of her classic SK humor though, who would have a female lead character who is allergic to cat's fall for a shapeshifting DH.

Animal lovers are the best proctors. Add sexy man to the mix and watch out.

I didn't like it, but I don't like Science Fiction. I picked it up because I hoped it would be like Feehan, Knight, Wolf or Ward's fantasy writing.

Susan Michaels was once the hottest reporter on the Beltway Beat until a major scandal ruined her life and left her writing stories about alien babies and Elvis sightings. Life as she once knew it is over, or so she thinks until she gets a lead on the biggest story in town: The Seattle Slayer. She heads to the local animal shelter, expecting a tip on the latest rash of killings. Instead, she gets a story about the mayor feeding citizens to a ring of vampires... yeah. Just another day in her life.

Then she gets talked into adopting a cat she's allergic to. Her first thought is to neuter the cat. But when he turns out to be a gorgeous shapeshifting man who claims to be an immortal vampire slayer she thinks: not so fast. Next thought: seek professional help.

Susan doesn't know what to believe, but as she's drawn into a paranormal world, she comes to realize that the story that could bring her credibility is too unbelievable to expose. Now it's no longer a question of bringing the truth to her readers, it's a matter of saving lives and souls, and her only ally is a man she's allergic to. In the world of the Dark-Hunters, it's always dangerous. But never more so than when one very human woman can shatter their entire world with just one story. The only question is... will she?

Hot read! "A delicious balance of suspense and sensuality"--Publishers Weekly

"Half animal, half man the Were-Hunter knows everything about peril and pain. But the greatest threat is yet to come..."

Fast, furious, sexy and compelling.

Though this book wasn't one of the better books in the Dark-Hunter series, it was worth reading. There's more insight into Ash's tormented life. Also, an angry Nick Gautier comes back into the DH world. I'm looking forward to the e-book "Fear the Darkness" that continues Nick's stroy.
