I really liked reading this book...so much so that I have ordered everyone of Michael Connelly's books since then. They remind me of a Clint Eastwood
type of hero and they are very well written.

Harry Bosch's life is on the edge. His earthquake-damaged home has been condemned. His girlfriend has left him. He's drinking too much. And after attacking his commanding officer,he's even had to turn in his L.A.P.D.badge. Now, suspended indefinitely pending a psychiatric evaluation,he's spending his time investigating an unsolved crime from 1961: The brutal slaying of a prostitute who happened to be his own mother.

Even after three decades, Harry's questions generate heat among L.A.'s top politicians. And as the truth begins to emerge, it becomes more and more apparent that somebody wants to keep it buried. Someone very powerful and very deadly.

A great Harry Bosch novel, full of suspense. Wonderful character development.

This was a good Harry Bosch novel. So far I've enjoyed all in this series.

I've never read a Michael Connely book I didn't like and this is Harry Bosch at his best.

Michael Connelly is awesome. I get lost in his novels and I never want them to end. I can't say that about any other writer. He makes me want to both be a writer and never write again, all at the same time. I want to be a writer because I think it would be fantastic to make others feel and think the way he makes me feel and think. Then again, he makes me never want to write another word because his work is so perfect, it can never be equalled. I can't possibly do it as well as he does it. It's a contradiction and a result of my own lack of confidence, I know, but it's true. It's what reading Connelly does to me. Another thing I know to be true: as long as Michael Connelly keeps writing, I'll be reading.

I like Harry Bosch. His Mother was murdered when he was a child. He has never been able to deal with this and in this book he does. I think it is my favorite in the series. Very good book.

Nothing beats Michael Connelly!

This is the 14th Michael Connelly book I've read and it does not disappoint. His character Harry Bosch is beautifully drawn and the book, like his others, is difficult to put down.

This is one of the Harry Bosch series of novels and perhaps the best of all of them. Harry is caught up in more issues and problems than anyone can handle including solving a very old murder. A great read!
