I really enjoyed this book! I was skeptical from disappointment in some of Patterson's recent releases. This one does not disappoint at all. Literally a surprise a minute, you don't know what to expect! I could not turn the pages quickly enough! I don't want to spoil the surprises by giving any description, read the book and you will know why!

Wow! You really cannot put this book down - So much for it lasting through the July 4th holiday!...I started and finished this book today. One of Patterson's best - Hot characters and fast paced. There are some surprises along the way and a touch of humor here and there.

I could not believe how awful this book is and how ludicrous the plotline is. Totally unbelievable

Why, oh why is James Patterson a bestselling author? I seriously don't get it. I stopped reading his books several years ago because I found that they just seemed to be getting worse and worse. Then last summer my mom-in-law gave me this book as a gift. It languished on my shelf until now and frankly I wasn't missing anything. The plot, so to speak, involves Lauren Stillwell, a police officer who finds out her husband is cheating on her. So instead of confronting him she decides to have a ‘quickie' with a co-worker. While looking out the window of the room where she has her assignation Lauren sees something so shocking her life is turned upside down, and she can't tell anyone, because that would reveal her affair. The plot was dumb, the characters cardboard cut-outs that I cared not one whit for, the dialogue trite, when not laughable, the writing pedestrian and the ending ridiculous. Awful is too nice a word to use when describing this book.”

Another great book by one of the masters! I find myself reading Patterson's books and thinking to myself tha"this"it is the best one...and then he proves me wrong again when I pick up the next. This book is very well written...you pitcure the action and follow the timelines as if you were there.

After about 5 pages into the book, I thought it was going to be a chore to finish the book. The main character is not very admirable, and the writing style is very frenetic and so overly dramatic. After wading through several more pages, I did start to get into the twists of the plotline, and the writing style eased up a bit. Overall an easy, quick entertaining read.

It's a Patterson - a quick read as usual. I did enjoy this one a bit more than the last few that seemed like they were written without much thought. Maybe Michael Ledwidge should try writing on his own and Patterson should step back a bit. And...why are his co-writers pics never on the books????

A very engaging, quick read. However, like most of Patterson's novels, there are enough plot holes to drive a truck through, but just ignore them, and you'll be in for an exciting page-turner.

I really liked the way this book was written. It seemed to flow very nicely! There were some suprise twists in there in true Patterson fashion! Overall this is a book I would reccommend! Nice plot, good characters, etc. Found that once I started it I couldn't put it down until it was done! A very good book!!

As an avid reader, I was getting my fill of contemporary romance novels. I was ready for a really fast-paced mystery and that was exactly what I got! I never would have guessed what the final outcome would be. It was a definite page turner!!

I haven't read Patterson in a while but this book really pulled me in. I found the characters very enjoyable and interesting. It was fast paced but still had an intriguing story line that clearly revealed the motivating emotions. I'd call it a real page turner but I have the audio version so it was more like I couldn't wait to have to drive somewhere!

Loved this book. It was a quick read with lots of plot twists. I wasn't sure how it was going to end, so I couldn't wait to finish it.

This was one of the most exciting books that Patterson has written. I wonder how much can be attributed to Michael Ledwidge. I will definitely watch for Ledwidge's books in the future. There were so many twists to the story, I could not figure out the end, I usually can guess the ending about three fourths of the way through.

This book lives up to it's name...it is a very quick read! I have not read too many Patterson novels, so I can't really say with any authority how well it stacks up to his others. For the most part, I enjoyed it...it was a page-turner, and kept me interested. But I think the plot bordered on totally unbelievable. It was just a real stretch for me to believe it could have happened. If that doesn't bother you, you will probably love this book. If you are like me and you still want your fiction to be somewhat believable, you might want to steer clear of this one...

Everything was just too easy -- the author made up too-convenient solutions to problems in the plot. It was not believable, and didn't go into detail when it should have. But how can you go into detail when what's happening is just rediculous? Maybe better to gloss over the details -- which he does a lot of.

When she sees her husband with another woman, Lauren Stillwell's heart nearly stops beating. Their marriage is perfect, she has a great job, she loves her life. But his betrayal turns her into someone she never imagined she could be--a woman lusting for revenge.
It was supposed to be a quickie, a way to even the score. But Lauren's night of passion takes a shocking turn when she witnesses an unexpected, unbelievable, deadly crime. Her horrifying secret threatens to tear her life apart, pitting her need to uncover the truth against her fear that the truth may be too horrible to bear. And whichever choice she makes could cost her dearly--her job, her marriage, even her life.
