Its so hard to write a helpful review w/o giving away details. This is my alltime fave series. Third book in series did not disappoint. I read all 629 pages in 2 days. The ending left many questions unanswered, but Im sure they were just left to be answered in the next book. This book was worth every penny. I only wish the next one were available already!

This was my favorite so far in the series. Its staying on my Keeper List. The boys are fighting mad over Bella, and its driving her nuts! Even though almost 99% of the female popuation is in love with Edward (myself included) You cant help but fall in love with Jacob too. Too bad a girl cant have her cake and eat it too.
I liked this book because we get to learn more about other characters, like Rosalee and Jasper. The info we learn in this book on Rosalee is relavent to events in the final book as well.

I don't know how I can be so hooked on reading a book with two lead characters who annoy me so much. I guess the reason Edward and Bella are so perfect for each other is that they can both be such whiners at times.
The love-triangle in this has definitely been done before (anyone read Anita Blake books?). Although, Jake is probably my favorite character out of the three.
The overall story is pretty good and it does keep you hooked.

I love the Twilight saga, but I was a little disappointed with this one. I don't want to give away the details, but I found the whole love triangle thing a bit overplayed. I did like how we learned more about the Cullen vamps - where they came from & how they came to be a family. The ending left alot of questions, and I'm sure readers will be surprised. It's a great romance without being raunchy. Can't wait for the final book that comes out this fall!

This third book of the Twilight series is awesome. I have read the entire series and cannot say enough about them. It has been a long time since I have come across books that I just could not put down. This is what happened with this series.
Every book was good.

This whole series has an edwardian feel to it, even though it is set in the here and now.The continuing love story of a human girl struggling to find herself while keeping company with Werewolves and her eternal love , a vampire. Not racy, but still a very satisfying love story. Our herione is beset with all the makings of a tradegy, yet she and her love must find a way to be together, else she be destroyed for all the secrets she carries.

I loved this book and the whole series! I couldn't put it down, I read the whole series in less than a week. It is a classic in the making. As a parent I also apprecited how moral it was since it is for young adults. The series is backed by sound morals and family values that are lacking in many YA books. Meyer promotes close family units, no drug use, safe driving, no sex before marriage, etc... Though there is sex in the last book it takes place after Belle and Edward are married which is more than I can say about many other YA vampire series. In fact it is Edward(the male main character) that encourages the abstinance throughout the series which I beleive is an excelent example for young males... one I would love to find in any boy who would date my daughters. All and all loved the books and would recommend them to anyone. They would make a great Mother/Daughter read.

Still reading them...
Sorry, but this was my least favorite of the three I have read so far. Too long, and I felt the long triangle was too contrived and unrealistic. Ok, so everyone is in love with Bella. I get it.
I did like the cooperation of the groups and the resolution of the threat, though it took forever to get there. Also liked the Indian mythology.

So far, this is my favorite book in the series. For me, Twilight was just OK and I enjoyed New Moon much more. Then I found myself unable to put Eclipse down, and I can't wait to begin Breaking Dawn. The tension Bella feels is described so completely, and it shows she's a normal girl torn between two great boys that love her. Her decisions for her future have me holding my breath, but I don't want to ruin the story with any more descriptions. Enjoy!

Eclipse was like twilight. It was beautiful. I love the chapter called Fire and Ice. Anyway. Eclipse was probably my favorite out of the three. If not I defiantly liked it more than New moon. These books are wonderful!

Another great book in the Twilight Saga. The story between Edward, Bella, and Jacob keeps growing, and Bella is finally starting to realize for every action there are reactions and choices to be made. It is also wonderful to finally learn some back stories about the characters and how they came to be vampires and werewolves. Just an amazing book with an amazing plot line. You won't be disappointed!

When I recommend this series to people they ask what it's about, and of course I have to tell them "vampires". But I promise this is one of the best series ever. I'm about to explode just thinking about the fourth one coming in August and then the movie in December! I never thought reading about vampires would have me so addicted. But there's only one problem - Edward needs to be real. :)

Bella Swan is one of the most whiny characers that I have had the displeasure to read about. I was hoping for her demise through out the last half of the book. Twilight was good, New Moon was okay, Eclipse was bad... I have the last book in the series and I am really debating if I want to waste any more time on it.

I enjoyed the entire Twlight saga. Of all the 4 books this one I found to be the funniest. I laughed a lot while reading this. Even though I have a pretty active imagination I thought...huh. Without giving too much away, I thought things seemed too cozy at times. Overall though all the books in the series are entertaining and a good read. I'm not a fan of Bella's but I wanted to know what she was going to do or what was going to happen to her.

I thought this book was very slow at getting to the plot. It kept anticipating that something big was going to happen and then you would have to keep reading hundreds of more pages to get there. The story does pick up at the last two hundred pages and turns out to be very good. I loved the action as well as the love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob. This book is not my favorite of the series, but once is picks up it is a good third book.

The best book in the Twilight series by far. I love the way Meyer makes the love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob so complex. Edward is Bella's soul mate, but Jacob is her best friend. She loves them both deeply. I also liked all the parallels to Wuthering Heights. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

This series continues to get better and better building to a crescendo in this book that left me reaching for the final book of the series and leaving many of my favorite authors in the TBR stack despite their accolades and anking on the Bestseller List. A glimpse into the world of vampires and shapeshifters/werewolves that leaves one wondering and in an odd way - hoping - even as Bella does. My advice? Get all the series and read from Twilight to the final volume - Breaking Dawn.... It will not disappoint.

Protagonist: 18-year-old Bella Swan
Setting: Forks, Washington, a small town on the rainy Olympic Peninsula
Series: #3
Rating: B
First Line: All our attempts at subterfuge had been in vain.
Since I received a small complaint about not including a spoiler alert with my review of New Moon, let me say this: I try my best not to give away major plot points in any of my book reviews. If you're a reader who doesn't want to know anything that happens in Eclipse, it might be a good idea for you to skip this review--or at least skip down to the last paragraph!
At the end of New Moon, Bella and Edward had been reunited, but there was still a serious threat from a revenge-seeking vampire focusing on Bella (which didn't live up to all the hype and suspense, if you ask me). In Eclipse, Bella just wants to graduate from high school and become a vampire so she can be with Edward for eternity. She also wants her friendship with Jacob Black to continue. Since Edward and Jacob are enemies, this isn't going to be the easiest thing to accomplish.
Once again, Meyer managed to suck me into the story, and I wasn't content until I'd finished the book. I'm still not quite sure how she does that because Eclipse had a huge "irk factor" for me. In the first part of the book, Edward is so controlling that I wanted to hit him upside the head with a tire iron--which just so happens to be a weapon that's mentioned later. Even as a teenager, I was fiercely independent, and if I'd hooked up with someone as controlling as Edward, it wouldn't have taken me long to point to the door. Hit the road, Jack...er...Ed. You may think you're the zoo keeper, but I'm not one of your big cats. Bella's low self-esteem also annoys me. Yes, it's pretty much guaranteed for most teen aged girls, but she goes overboard with it. It also doesn't help that I'm firmly in the camp that believes Bella has chosen The Wrong Guy. Yes, folks, I prefer Jacob. He's tall, he's good-looking (not beautiful--gag), and he's got a good sense of humor. (He made me laugh several times while reading Eclipse.) Edward is just too much a Pretty Boy and way too serious! I'll be reading Breaking Dawn with some interest. I know Jacob's going to get the short end of the stick, but I don't want it to be too short, if you know what I mean!

Although there are over 600 pages, it was a fast and thrilling read. Again, as in Book 1, this one also had some "laugh-out-loud" moments. I loved every page and am looking forward to reading Book 4.

My Review:
The third installment in a wonderful saga, Eclipse is a wonderful book. The characters are so well rounded and so easy to love, it's no wonder there's a whole community dedicated to them on the internet!
Edward's love is so believable and raw that it brings tears to my eyes and the way that Ms. Meyer writes makes my breath catch whenever the character's does. Watching Jacob grow as both boy to man and into a werewolf is like watching someone I love develop.
I will say, that I think the book dragged just a bit in the middle, but not enough to worry about. I also personally (again, this is just my opinion) didn't agree with some of the choices that Bella made when it came to Jacob, but by the end of the book I saw some of the point and where it could lead.

To say that ECLIPSE isn't emotional would be like saying the sky isn't blue. Many mature themes are dealt with here as Bella struggles to make a decision about her future vampirism. However, ECLIPSE is also action- and drama-packed. Two lovable boys, enemies in form and common affection, fighting for Bella. Bloodthirsty, bad vampires (who can get enough of them?). I guarantee that ECLIPSE will not disappoint steadfast Twilight fans, and we are all looking forward to the fourth and final book with barely contained impatience.

This is the third (and possibly final?) installment of the thrilling series (following TWILIGHT and NEW MOON) that has many teens and adults alike enthralled by the passion of Edward and Bella.
Could it now be over?
Bella believes that she wants to be a vampire, but she must fight with herself to make sure that's what she really wants. There have been many killings in Seattle and, once again, Bella is in danger. Graduation is right around the corner and she is faced with the hardest decision of her life -- life or death? And which is which?
ECLIPSE is a good closing to the series, if this is indeed the end, but there are a few times that the writing is a little vague. I'll be very sad to see these characters go, but at the same time, I'm worried that if there are any more books the story may begin to seem drug out.
Very good overall, though!

This is my favorite book of the whole series!
Best book in the series!!!!
Bella and Edward move on with their relationship with Bella desperately missing her friend Jacob who keeps away from her since she decided to stay together with vampire Edward. Edward, strictly against a friendship warns her that werewolves aren't predictable and tries to occupy her with his sister Alice or himself to keep her away from La Push, the wolves reservoir.
But sooner or later he has to learn that Jacob's friendship means a lot to Bella, enough to run away from his watchful eyes. He knows that sooner or later Bella has to decide between the human love she feels for Jacob and his and wants her to decide for herself.
When Seattle is raided by a group of young vampires, Bella once again is the target of Victoria's revenge. To win this war the Cullens' have to built an alliance with the wolves pack to fight the group that will come to Forks.
-
I don't quite know what to think of this third installment. Bella has her issues with becoming immortal, she has her issues to give up the human qualities Jacob could offer her. The author most definitely went overboard with the whole love triangle thing and certain parts didn't make sense to me at all. But then, I've never been like Bella, who is still the most dependent person in the world, now needing two men to "survive".
Edward seems to have matured a bit by allowing Bella to keep her friendship and decide for herself but still the whole situation is annoying. As a mother I'd probably throw a fit over it.
So top or flop, I wouldn't know and can't decide if I liked it or not. The book didn't offer much substance to me which I expected but overall, it was an ok read to pass the time.
I'm still interested how the story ends and have already picked up the last book to finish the series and get it out of the way.
I refuse to draw any conclusions to the secret fantasies the author might have. Won't do that. No no no.

Another of Meyer's addictive vampire tales. I'm not really sure I liked the whole love triangle thing -- I frankly was rooting for her to choose Jacob.
This is the third book in the Twilight Saga Series. I had heard from others that the second book, New Moon, wasn't the best of the four, but so far, I have to say this one wasn't. I LOVED Twilight, liked New Moon, and feel that Eclipse is OK. I am looking forward to reading the last one - Breaking Dawn! In this part of the saga, some true feelings emerge and all the characters are finally honest with themselves and others about their feelings. As opposed to many other reviewers, I preferred New Moon over this book. After watching the DVD, I decided to start the series of books. Our teenage daughter couldn't say enough about the Twilight books so I was curious to read what the hype was about. I wasn't as interested about the history of the vampires and werewolves which this book discussed in great detail. I became quite bored through the middle, but the ending picked up pace very quickly. I love that Stephenie Meyer is promoting what I consider good morals for her characters. I have no problem with my children reading this series. I have started the final book of the series, and am enjoying it immensely so far.

Eclipse is the third book in the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. Unless you've been living under a rock, you'd know this is the story of Bella, a "normal" high school girl who falls in love with a vampire. Complications ensue because she's human and should be her boyfriend's dinner, and she has a werewolf for a best friend.
Where to begin. Well I thought that Eclipse was better than New Moon. I think that that is greatly due to my aversion to reading about a main character who is moping around and angsty, which is what you see a lot of in New Moon. I'm just not a fan of depression in my escapism. On the other hand, while in New Moon I found Bella and Edward somewhat annoying, in Eclipse I started also getting mad at other secondary characters like Charlie, who is Bella's father, and Jacob, Bella's best friend!
I admit, Meyer has to be doing something right. These books aren't on bestseller lists for nothing. I'd say it's the world building and the way she writes her dialog. It feels very natural and real and it's very readable. From what I remember of Twilight, the pacing there was quite fast. The pacing in Eclipse however felt a lot slower, with much of the action happening only in the last 100 or so pages. So despite my liking the way Meyer writes dialog, I felt like there was too much - it takes up a lot of room so pages and pages later you realize - nothing has happened. At 600+ pages, this book could have used some merciless editing.
Overall: An average to slightly above average read. Natural dialog, fascinating world building, great action when there is any (there was little), but I had some major issues with the characters and with Bella's subjugation by her male counterparts.

The saga continues, as does my obsession. I think this is my favorite so far. I actually think my favorite character is Alice. I don't know why, she kind of cracks me up. The ending made me a little crazy... so what happened next?!?! I will know soon enough, the next book is on the way to me :)
Great young adult fiction, love it.
I'm worried that book 4 won't be the ending though and I'll thoroughly frustrated even more ;) See, THIS is why I don't read series... I don't like being left hanging!
Bella, Bella, Bella...how you stay so "good" and still be a one-person disaster zone is truly the mark of a talented writer. So many authors would have had this tale sounding like the Keystone Cops, but Meyer has the ability to keep everything in a totally human (although angst-ridden) context.
Again, the standard of morality is fantastically high yet never comes across as preachy. The testing of friendships and dedication to a higher cause are idealistic and realistic at the same time.
This is the third of four volumes, and each has been insanely hard to put down while there was still reading left to do.
"Eclipse" is the third book in Stephanie Meyer's Twilight saga. You're going to read this book if you like the Twilight series. But, it is unlikely that you'll read it if you don't. I also recommend that you start the series from the beginning.
What I really enjoyed about "Eclipse" is that it gave us further glimpses into the back-stories of the Cullen family. The storyline in "Eclipse" is getting familiar as I read more of the series. It follows the same pattern in other words.
I read this entire book on an international plane flight. I simply could not put it down. I definitely recommend that you read the series, and let me know your thoughts when you're done. Visit www.carriesclassics.com to share your thoughts on Eclipse.
This was probably my favorite in the series. The humor and the drama both captured me. This book is a good set-up for the next.

Bella has some decisions to make. Gets very sad at the end, but with a happy ending of course.
Possibly my least favorite, next to Breaking Dawn; Twilight will always be my favorite of the series.
And you thought your life was complicated.
Stephenie Meyer continues her epic vampire saga with Eclipse, the third installment in the book series. After a whirlwind trip to Italy to save the love of her life, Bella Swan is back in Forks, Washington, preparing for high school graduation and the ulimate change in her life: her transformation into a vampire. But a few things are standing in the way: the Volturi (a small, dominating group of peace-keeping vampires), Victoria (female vampire seeking to kill Bella), and her chaste boyfriend Edward (vampire who isn't completely convinced on the idea of Bella becoming one of him). And her best friend Jacob - a werewolf, to note - isn't helping matters much by wanting to take their relationship to the next level despite Edward's constant presence. But even that isn't the worst of it.
A rogue group of young, hungry "bloodsuckers" are rampaging through Seattle, causing newspaper headlines to declare mass murders and killing sprees. Little do they know, the team has its crosshairs on just one target: Bella. This results in the unlikely allying of the vampiric Cullen family and the werewolf Quileute clan, who join up to defend Bella from the bloodthirsty onslaught.
But the possibility of death isn't the only thing on Bella's mind: she must find out why she can't remove Jacob from her life and whether she feels that "something more" that he does.
Meyer's writing was brilliant in the series' predecessors, Twilight and New Moon. She doesn't fail to impress with Eclipse, combining heart-breaking romance with pulse-pounding action, with an occasional romantic, mushy moment for flavoring. Even those who are unfamiliar with the first two books will fall easily into Eclipse with the series' facts stuffed into the first chapter. Though the entire series keeps a much better story, Eclipse easily stands on its own as a classic tale of evolving love and brutal war.

This is my favorite series. I haven't read any books this good in a long, long time. The characters are so real, it makes you feel like you know them and you feel what they feel. It is definitely worth it to read this series.
I spent most of this book wishing Bella would open her eyes and stop being so selfish. When she finally does I admit it I almost cried.
Once again a very touching and compelling read.

I finished this book in 3 hours - I couldn't put it down until it was done. I have since read all 3 books over twice, in anticipation of the final book coming out in August - This is about the best series I've read in a long, long time. Stephenie Meyer is making herself out to be quite the author - don't let the whole vampire/werewolf thing throw you, these books are about love and friendship and all that goes with it - extraordinary!!
Wow. What can I say? To me, the Twilight Saga keeps getting better and better. I can hardly wait until the last book comes out Aug. 2nd. This is a great book and it's kind of hard to review without giving anything away, but if you've read the first 2 books, then this one should be high on your list!

I loved this whole series, the ending kind of disappointed me, but I realize that is how things happen in real life (minus vamps & weres)...people get hurt. Very good series & I hope there is another one to come out.
Amazing third book in the series and certainly not a let down. All the emotions and excitement built in the previous two books is magnified here; more information is thrown to you in these too short of pages than one could imagine. Another whirlwind novel given to us by Stephenie Meyer.

I loved this book. I really like the series and can't wait for the next book to come out. She really pulls you into the characters life.
Third book of the series and i loved it!!! It was a quick read for me and i could not stop reading it. I have already recommended it to several other people and some of my professors.
The other two books in this series are a "must read"!
Wonderful books even for adults!
