My personal recomendation to all new mothers. This books gives many the permission to approach parenting differntly than many other philosophies. For me it gave words to my personal beliefs, and helped me find my "village."

This is a great book to have around as a parent. We went to it for advice on specific situations, to double-check dosages of common infant medicines and for just plain reassurance many, many times.

The ESSENTIAL guide to children under two, this book discusses everything from breastfeeding/bottle feeding with love, babywearing, sleep issues, development of a child, physical concerns such as illnesses, etc. This book is a wonderful alternative to the popular "what to expect" series which has numerous instances of medical misinformation in them. Dr Sears and his wife, an RN, have successfully raised numerous children and taught many parents in the pediatric practice.

Wow, this is THE best baby book I've ever seen! It has great information about milestones, feeding, sleeping, attachment parenting, illnesses, and more. I love the whole Sears parenting library.
An excellent resource. If you have only 1 book in your parenting library this should be it.
