Fun & easy read. I enjoyed the flawed heroine. I also enjoyed the flashbacks- like Wow chips, Diet Snapple, and shoulder pads. Lots of fun.

I loved this book. It reminded me of a relationship that I was in. I thought it was very realistic and it was great I couldn't put it down. Wendy Markham is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors this is a must read for any Chick Lit or Red Dress Ink Fan.

This book is a very cute story of a young woman trying to make it on her own in New York City while her boyfriend is away for the summer. It's a great beach or airplane read, light but not ignorant. I liked it enough to request the second book in the series! It's cute and funny.

A story of a woman trying to navigate the difficult path between her job, her Italian family, and her actor boyfriend. Keeps you guessing until the very end.

Good read. Keeps you engaged and wondering what Tracey will do next, and how things will work out for her. I look forward to reading the rest in the series.

For every girl who's ever endured a long, hot urban summer on her own, SLIGHTLY SINGLE is the summer breeze you've been waiting for!

A heat wave in Manhattan is enough to drive a girl crazy, and for Tracey Spadolini, a 24-year-old New York transplant who's been "left behind" for the summer, there's even more to sweat about. Her Slightly Significant Other, Will, will be returning from summer stock in September, to pick up where they left off. (or will he?)

But, in the days after Will's departure, Tracey decides it's time for a reality check. Her un-air-conditioned East Village apartment is a dump, her entry-level ad job sucks, her thighs don't seem to be getting any thinner, and Will seems to have dropped her off the face of the earth. So, Tracey, with the help of her friens and one very attentive guy, decides to spend her summer reinventing herself. . . and taing a chance on liking the new woman she becomes.

From Booklist
Tracey Spadolini has always been insecure. She's somewhat overweight, unhappy in her job, and dating Will, a handsome but commitment-phobic actor. Will is spending the summer in upstate New York, leaving a morose Tracey behind in Manhattan, so she decides to use the time to turn herself into the woman she has always wanted to be. She goes on a diet and starts to read classics. She also meets Buckley, a good-looking, sweet guy who pursues a friendship with her even after he mistakes their first trip to the movies together as a date. Tracey can't help but compare him to Will, and Buckley comes out ahead every time. Will hardly ever calls and seems hesitant when she tells him she wants to come to visit him, but Tracey is sure that he'll be won over by her new look. It takes Tracey a maddeningly long time to come to her senses, but it's an undeniably fun journey for the reader. Kristine Huntley

This was a cute and funny story. It went pretty quickly, and I kinda felt bad for the main character, but it never seems obvious when you're in that kind of situation, right? :) Also registered on bookcrossing.

This book is well-loved :) It's been passed around through many of my friends, so yes, it does have some normal wear and tear!

This book is an awesome light read and the books that follow are the funniest I have read. This book provides the background and basis for the rest of the series. I only wish I had found these sooner

This is the great first book of the Slightly series. I'm really growing accustomed to Markham's writing style. She makes the characters relatable and you really feel like you are inside the story. I actually read Slightly Settled before Slightly Single, so I was already familiar with Tracey and Will. It actually made me like the book a little less, because I knew what would happen. However, Tracey is a VERY relatable character and you just want to make her see what she's so blind to. Great beach/pool or rainy day read.
