Book Reviews of Bombshell (Red Dress Ink)

I recently read this book on long flight to LA.
I have to say that I was not expecting that much,
but this book was a bit deeper than the average
chic-lit. The flight flew by, and I really enjoyed the book!

Enjoyable Chick lit. Curnyn enfuses her characters with a believable vunerability. In this story, Grace Noonan is a single woman working for an upscale cosmetics firm in New York City. Realising suddenly and painfully that her current boyfriend is not interested in a permanent future and feeling a surprising yearning for a child, the story starts with her breakup. Grace moves on quickly, as she has developed a wall of protection over the years and an ability to make pre-emptive strikes - breaking up with her boyfriends before they can break up with her. This wall has grown because of a string of men who have an interest in having her their bed, but not in their lives. On top of that, she is adopted, searching for her real mother, who has not replied to her letter asking to meet. There is a little more depth to this character than some others in chick-lit. A sequel to "Engaging Men", though it can be read alone without having read the first one.

I started reading this book on Friday evening and couldn't put it down. The writer had me so engaged, I couldn't stop reading!

Good fast paced chick lit.

The heroine of this book is a decade older than the typical 20-something chick lit protagonist, and maybe that's why she is noticeably more self-aware and -- well ... mature! -- than the run-of-the-mill poor-little-me whiner. She's happy with the way she looks, she actually eats, and more importantly, she can recognize that her pattern of relationships with men has contributed to her currently-single state. The ending wasn't quite what I was expecting, but in this case, that's A Good Thing.

Nice light chick lit read! Grace Noonan is a 30-something recently single woman and buxom hottie, working in the cosmetics industry. Curnyn writes about her dating woes, workplace issues and finding Mr. Right. Verey fun read!

She has more shoes than Sarah Jessica Parker and a skin-care system that could make Madonna swoon, but unlike her celebrity counterparts, Grace Noonan doesn't have it all. Her latest utterly-eligible-yet-maddeningly-unavailable boyfriend has revealed that having sex with her is one thing and having babies quite another, forcing Grace to move on -- again. And now that her employer -- a top cosmetics company once devoted to "beauty beyond thirty" -- is pursuing a teenaged supermodel as its future face, this thirty-four-year-old marketing exec is starting to wonder if she is going to get it all before the closing credits. Could it be time for Grace to back out of the beauty race and trade the singles scene for the sperm bank? Or is there something even this savvy bombshell has yet to discover about life and love in New York City?

Great book, a must read!

Readers may remember Grace Noonan from Curnyn's previous novel, Engaging Men (2003), as the fun, feisty friend of heroine Angie DiFranco. Angie has her man now, but Grace is still looking or, rather, holding any man who might get close to her at arm's length. She dumps Ethan when he reacts with horror at the idea that he may have gotten her pregnant.

Things aren't any better at work: the cosmetics company she works for has decided to market a new line to the teen set, and her ex-boyfriend Michael, the son of the company's founder, is back in town with a new fiancee on his arm, who just happens to be the woman heading up the project. When her period comes late and Grace believes she may indeed be pregnant, she finds herself excited rather than frightened by the possibility.

Curnyn's novels keep getting better; readers will love following tough, sophisticated Grace on her quest for love and family.

Enjoyed it.

Another hit book by Red Dress ink. Grace Noonan is the epitemy of every female who feels like they are never young enough, pretty enough, rich enough.

Great book of a tale of a single female. Tales of dating, men, work and choices.

Chick lit: Grace, 34, owns tons of monetary items, but, has no love interest. Should she seek out a sperm bank? or will she find love & a new life?

This was a great story! I bought it on a whim and am glad I did. Kinda like a Bridgett Jone's diary type theme, it is empowered with sex, drama, and just one womans' struggle to find success, love and happiness in her life.

A book for you if you like SEX AND THE CITY

Fun, but a little bit ditsey!

An enjoyable fast read for chick lit. Grace Noonan is entertaining and honest, so it's a fun twist on the typical "bombshell" you read in chick lit.

I thought this book was really good! I was going through a hard time at the time I read the book, and it mage ma laught through some tears. If you ever have had relationship troubles, this ones for you!

must read engaging men before you read this. a great start!

This is a fun book to read. Setting is in NYC. About a 34 year old woman who stuggles between work, love and family. Very cosmpolitan and funny. Those ladies who enjoy Sex and the City and the like will enjoy this book
