One of the funniest books I read in a long time! Laughed so hard I had tears just running down my face. Nothing fancy, real light chik read so if you want something serious do not read. If you just want a good laugh and something to forget your problems this book is for you.

Gives Drama Queens a bad name. Should be titled "Tales of a Loser Mooch" or "Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures." Complete waste of time. And, if that wasn't so bad, there's a sequel. Oh, goody!

What a fun read! A little predictable, but not completely. The characters are fun and believable. Can't wait to read the sequel.

This book is SOOOOOOOOO funny, charming and wonderful! A great read! Caution: do NOT read it in bed wheile your partner is sleeping. Narrative causes hysterical, uncontrollable laughter and you partner will think you're crying, you're laughing so hard. The main character, Elle, is a wonderful mess!

A quick, easy chick lit book, but like much chick lit, the main character is a bit TOO ditzy for my liking.

An amusing coming of age novel about a young woman who didn't come of age the first time around.
A great and hilarious read full mystery, suspence, humor, and romance.

Elle is one of those characters that you root for from the second you begin reading. Watching her learn to rely on herself for happiness and security makes you proud, as though she's a friend. I absolutely loved this book. :o)

Tales of a Drama Queen was all that and more. Elle is both charming and irritating, resembling Becky Bloomwood of Shopaholic but without Becky's charm at least Becky wasn't so into herself just shopping. But parallels between Shopaholic and Drama Queen are very clear. Would be interesting to see if Lee Nichols branches this into a series.
Okay, maybe you have to be reading after midnight, after a long hard day ... but I laughed so hard tears were running down my cheeks. I woke poor DH, but had such a fit of giggles I could NOT stop! A river ... no, a flood ... of condoms ... and other calamities just go on, and on, and on!! Ladies, if you have any sense of the ridiculous, you will recognize yourself in these Tales of a Drama Queen.

Attempted twice to put a tag for my copy of book. No go - so, that's why I'm putting the information here. My cover is missing part of the upper part of the cover. I received book used. And the person I received the book from accidentally dropped the book - resulting is the covering ripping. I have filled in the missing part with cardboard. Otherwise the condition of this book is good.

I did not have any expectations for this book & was very pleasantly surprised! I really found myself caring about the characters. I loved the style it was written in, almost stream-of-consciousness of the main character. Also, it is laugh out loud funny - not an exaggeration - I got many strange looks reading this on the train.
I went to visit A Friend in a different city and didn't feel like reading the book I took with me, so we found a used bookstore and decided to check it out. I mean, there are Borders and other regular bookstores but I generally find cooler things in used stores. This time, not so much.
However, I did get 3 books: 2 Piers Anthony and “Tales of a Drama Queen” by Lee Nichols. This was, I discovered to my horror only after I bought it, a Red Dress Ink book. Which means it's published by Harlequin. Well, it wasn't so bad. Not your standard formulaic Harlequin romance, which is good.
Elle Medina is a late 20s woman who has never held a job. She met her now-ex-fiance shortly after graduating from college and became a kept woman. That is, until he went on a business trip to Iowa and came home, after a week, married to another woman. Elle moves to Santa Barbara and lives with her high school best friend and decides to get a job, get an apartment and get a man.
For 279 pages, we read about how she screws up at every opportunity and learns how to be a grown up. It was interesting to me because she never actually did learn how to be a grown up when she was supposed to, so her experiences are similar to what a teenager might go through. Since I didn't learn how to be an adult until late in life myself, I could relate. Oh, my issues weren't that I didn't get a job but there were other things. Elle is a likeable character and the story, while not deep, is entertaining. If you are looking for something fun and easy, this is a good choice.
Fun! I reminded me of the Shopaholic series (slightly) because the main character has no direction and no money, but spends it anyway. There were laugh out loud moments, which I always enjoy! I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.
Strongly recommend this book. It kept me laughing hte whole time. Definite chick lit at it's best.
