I didn't think I was going to enjoy this book, but I really did. I think there were only two short stories that I could have skipped without missing out and the rest were just great. I was driven to read the book because I wanted to read more by Sophie Kinsella and I did quite enjoy her story, but the best part was that I got a sampler of other writers that have a similar genre and voice to that of Kinsella, which absolutely made my day. Girls Night In is a very quick read and is easily read alongside of other books because it is a collection of short stories by a range of authors. None of the stories are too long and they are perfect to get more enjoyable reading into your day. This is definitely worth a credit!!

This book was just okay in my opinion. I liked Jennifer Weiner's book of short stories, so I thought I'd like this one too. I found some of the stories to be inappropriate for the short story genre. The topics some of the authors chose needed more development than you can get in a short story. There were several that I really liked however. "In Agony" was probably my favorite one along with "Party Planner" . I liked "Good Men", but I had read it before. "Changing People" was one that I felt needed much more development. It could have been great as a novel. Perhaps Sophie Kinsella will make it into one!

A story collection from all your favorite Chick Lit authors. Each story is only 10-15 pages, and each reflect the style of the writer. Very much enjoyed!

I'm not a big fan of short stories, but this was nice to read a little tidbit by authors I've never read, to see if I would enjoy their books. It's also good if you can only read a little bit here and there.

Love the concept of trying out several authors, but really only liked a couple of stories in this collection. Good for lunch time reading.

I can honestly say there were some stories I LOVED. They left me wanted more from some of the short stories. On the other hand there were a few I just found boring and had me uninterested. All in all it is a fun easy read.

Short stories are a tough form. Most of these women are MUCH better novelists.

from back cover- 21 tales from today's hottest female writers.
In this must-have short-story collection, Jennifer Weiner revisits one of her Good In Bed characters (and tells the story from ahem his point of view).
Jill A. Davis (Girls' Poker Night) offers a darkly humorous take on starting over in New York and working with "the Elizabeths" and Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez (The Dirty Girls Social Club) muses on how different the words lady and woman are when paired with cat.
Girls' Night In features stories about growing up, growing out of, moving out, moving on, falling apart and getting it all together. So turn off your cell phone and curl up on the couch: this is one Girls' Night In you won't want to miss.

Good collection of short stories from many popular authors of good chick lit. Some of it I wasn't as fond of as others, but it's all about the method and the story. Worth a read! :)

Some of these stories were wonderful, funny, and very entertaining. Others I didn't like. It was still a great book and would reccomend it to anyone who likes Chick Lit or Romance books. It's great for a girl's night in.

From Publishers Weekly
The third installment (the first to be published in the U.S.) in a British-originated series, this uneven anthology of stories by chick lit\'s bright lights showcases some engaging voices. Many of the selections, however, lack focus and shape, and while most begin energetically, more than a few fizzle before ending abruptly. Notable exceptions include \"Cat Lady\" by Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez (The Dirty Girls Social Club), in which a woman trying to embrace her inner spinster (\"Dear self: If you are still single and haven\'t had one good date in the preceding two years... [s]ave yourself a future of humiliation and too much makeup and realize one important truth: You are now a cat lady\") finds unexpected romance. In \"New York\" by Jill A. Davis (Girls\' Poker Night), a woman recovering from a breakdown finds her niche and a second chance for success in magazine publishing. Premonitions by a psychic roommate in \"Know it All\" by Sarah Mlynowski (Milkrun) help the story\'s narrator finally make a decision regarding her on-again off-again boyfriend. Some big names disappoint, including Jennifer Weiner (Good in Bed) and Anna Maxted (Running in Heels). The anthology supports an excellent cause—a percentage of the proceeds go to the humanitarian organization War Child—but it\'s not consistently gratifying as entertainment.
