What a charming story. Always nice to read about a handsome, easy-going cowboy that's rich and can gamble all day!! He has two other guy-friends in the series that are heartbreakers, too. Be sure to check out McKettrick's Heart and McKettrick's Pride along with this one.

The first of a new trilogy about the 21st century McKettrick cousins - Jesse, Rance and Keegan who have decended from the original McKettrick brothers in Indian Rock, Arizona.

For some reason all the McKettrick men scream "Hot!" and I love reading about them. I've been a long time Lael fan and love her writing style and all of her books. Definatey was happy with this one as well.

The first of a new trilogy about the 21st century McKettrick cousins - Jesse, Rance and Keegan who have decended from the original McKettrick brothers in Indian Rock, Arizona.

Jesse is a rancher (of sorts). His family owns the Triple M Ranch as well as a worldwide conglomorate called McKettrickCo. Jesse is happy collecting his dividend checks and gambling to pass the time. Cheyenne Bridges grew up in Indian Rock, and left its painful memories to become a self-made woman. SHe returns to Indian Rock to try and convince Jesse to sell some land to her boss's company for multiple millions of dollars. Her commission on this sale would make her family's financial future secure - which it isn't now with her mother unemployed and her brother a parapalegic. If she fails, her boss's company will fail as well and she will have nothing.

An interesting story of one man who could care less (but of course is smitten by Cheyenne)and one woman whose future depends on being able to close the sale (in which case she surely loses Jesse).

Loved the entire series. Miller writes so down to earth. All three of these cousins are quite the catch. Not sure which of the three is my favorite but Jessie would be hard not to love. They are all different yet all so much alike.

Highly recommend this series

First book in the "McKettrick Men" series. This series is the current-day stories of the McKettricks of Indian Rock, Arizona - the direct descendants of the founders of the Triple M ranch (McKettrick's Choice, Secondhand Bride). A great read for all L.L. Miller fans.

The is the first book of the McKettrick Men series. The modern day tale of the descendants of the Triple M Ranch introduced in the (historical) McKettrick Cowboy series. The second and third McKettrick Men books are 'McKettrick's Pride' & "McKettrick's Heart'.

Like his celebrated ancestors who tamed the wilds of arizona Jesse McKettricks Indian Rock ties run deep. The triple M Ranch is in his blood along with the thrill of risk But with his land at stake jesse wont get involved in cheyenne Bridges scheme despite the temptation she brings. Cheyenne grew up in Indian rock and left its painful memories behind to become a self made woman now her job is to convince jesse to sell his property. Jesse's not the kind of man Cheyenne could ever forget but hes too wild and dangerous for a woman committed to playing it safe.

A great story of a new generation of the McKettrick's. Jesse is the direct descendant of Jeb McKettrick (Secondhand Bride). I do not normally like novels set in the modern era but this story captured my heart.
Jesse is a care free, unfettered modern male more interested in poker games than in working. Cheyenne (who had a crush on Jesse in high school)is employed by a land developer and is sent to Indian Rock to buy some of Jesse's land for condos. Cheyenne is a strong willed woman but she has a vulnerable side - her mother and her brother. She is determined to get Jesse to sell his land no matter how it has to be accomplished.
Another great story from Ms Miller. I am now eager to read the next 2 books in the trilogy.

I really enjoyed this book. It is very humorous in places.:) The romantic parts are a little graphic. I liked the romantic plot very much and the characters definitely seemed realistic.

In order to fund a new life for not only herself, but also for her mother and handicapped brother, Cheyenne Bridges has returned home to convince Jesse McKettrick to sell part of his land to her boss for a condo development. However, Jesse wants no part of it; he loves the land, but what he is beginning to feel for Cheyenne is starting to rival that feeling. Still determined to have that new life, Cheyenne takes a job with Jesse's brother. Her boss wants her to use that role to spy on the McKettricks, but she wants no part of espionage. If Jesse or his brothers learn about her deception, all her old and new dreams could be gone with the wind.

The first in a new modern trilogy of McKettrick men. Jesse McKettrick is the great great great grandson of Jeb McKettrick and as true to Linda Lael Miller’s other McKettrick stories it's about their land and their love. Enjoyable read.

Another great read from Linda Lael Miller. This is the first in the McKettrick Men trilogy that is based in modern times. These men are the ancestors of the early McKettrick men that we met in High Country Bride; Shotgun Bride; and Secondhand Bride. I highly recommend this. I finished it in about two days.
