I have read this book several times. I highly recommend this book for Anyone out there who battles Depression. Dr.David Burns shows you how to talk yourself out of depression, cognitive behavioral therapy. Overall He shows us how to think differently and shows us how DEPRESSION IS ONLY A THOUGHT !!!Drugs are not the only answer. SADNESS IS NOT DEPRESSION. You really can overcome depression. I have battled all my life with depression and my Dr. taught me the things in this book and it really works. I have given away 2 or 3 copies to friends. Thumbs up !!

this is a good book if you don't look at the drug section,it is outdated.
it is also a ggod book if you take what he says with a grain of salt. i felt that he was very condecending at times but his message is right on if you can get past all the above. it hjas help me and my DH tremendously and we now use a different means of communicationafter 30 year sof marriage and it is good.
